Murphys Inn Motel

I love the area, been to Murphys before. The outside of this hotel is fine but inside is a different story. Our room looked like it had not been dusted in weeks, the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall, the floor was filthy, the furniture inside our room was old and worn. I stayed at this same hotel in 2019 and it was clean. It may have changed owner/ management since then. The location is great as there are local restaurants and markets 5 mins walk or less away but I will stay elsewhere next time in the area.

We had stayed here about 5 years ago. This is a great location entering Murphys Main Street. It is an older hotel but the rooms are big and they are clean. The shower was great. I had asked for a two o’clock check in on a Tuesday. We arrived a little after two and there was one car in the parking lot. Took awhile for someone to come to the front desk, but we were then told to come back, the room wasn’t ready…ok, no big deal…we came back about 30 mins later and got the room keys…as we walked down the hall way, the doors to the other rooms were all open and none of the rooms were made up…it was a nice warm day and we thought we could sit by the pool, but the pool was closed for the winter, with an extra sign saying the county environmental department has commended the pool for several serious health reason…so that was disappointing because their outdoor space was closed. We decided to only stay two days instead of three, but the desk person told me I would have to wait until the morning because she couldn’t take care of my request…ok, again no big deal…the next day, the cancellation process was accomplished and when we came back to our room later in the afternoon, the room key didn’t work. Again, the front desk fixed it, but this was the second time the key had to be changed. If we had returned after 9:00pm, we would not have been able to get into the hotel….I wasn’t sure if we would have housekeeping, but when I realized we didn’t, there was no problem getting towels, soap and coffee from the front desk. This morning we noticed that the stopper to the sink was missing, I would have thought housekeeping would have reported this …..so our stay wasn’t a disaster, we had fun and the motel was not one we would use again.

Clean room and bathroom. The beds were comfortable. Walking distance to everything Murphys has to offer was perfect. Knowing it was off season, the pool looked scary. It was difficult to get assistance in the lobby… I had to call several times, each time there was no answer. When they finally arrived the helped the people who arrived after us. Good parking.

It was a business stay and the club was in town. It was close to downtown and restaurants and shops were nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cookies were an added treat as you checked in. Rooms were clean and comfy.

Clean, convenient. Will stay there again.

More than I expected. I love that it is a short walkable distance to the old downtown. Clean and pleasant experience.

I’m very happy with my choice! It was cosy, warm and comfortable. We had some trouble with the TV but was quickly resolved by friendly staff.
