Always the best experience here. From the food to the rooms, this is my favourite place to stay at Volcanoes National Park. Hospitality is exceptional! Definitely get the massage. You won't be disappointed. Book early as they only have 4 cottages.

Beautiful & Comfortable Accommodation, Fireplace for the cold nights! Friendly Staff, The chef is amazing, and his dishes are so delicious 😋. After Trekking in Mud, our Hiking Boots was cleaned and ready for the next day. We also received a Full Body Massage to recover from the trekking. Highly Recommend you visit Sambora Kinigi

Small, intimate, wonderful hotel. Because of a problem with our booking agent the lodge was not expecting us. Fortunately they had room for us and went out of their to welcome us. The kindest staff ever! Emmy was outstanding and Chef Levocate prepared three utterly delicious meals a day, all included, packed a snack for our gorilla trek, and kindly fed our driver. The rooms are lovely. They lit a fireplace in our room on request and provided hot water bottles to warm our bed at night which were a delight!

We stayed 3 nights in mid April. First, do not let the rainy season deter you. The rains did come in the late afternoons and the trekking was a little muddy, but I think it is likely the best time to gorilla trek and/or look for the golden monkeys. Everything is lush and green, no crowds and a discounted price. In terms of the lodge, we cannot give enough praise. The lodge itself and the rooms are beautiful and absolutely wonderful. WiFi was available in the main area and in our room. The staff is kind, welcoming and attentive to every detail. All meals were absolutely wonderful. We were surprised by daily massages being included, and they were extremely appreciated after all the walking. Upon our return from daily activities, staff cleaned our hiking boots until they looked better than new. Every afternoon and evening, a blazing fire greeted us in our room and at night, warm water bottles were delivered to keep us cozy. Book without hesitation, you will be delighted with your stay.

My partner and I stayed at the Sambora for 3 nights, and it was fantastic. We loved the “homey” aspect that this place brought. The staff is beyond friendly and the food is beyond anything. We ate at a 5 star hotel down the street one night, and it did not even compare to how amazing the Sambora is. I cannot recommend this place enough, you will not regret it.

We had a wonderful experience at the Sambora Kinigi Lodge. First, the food was delicious. Homemade savory soups, fresh baked bread, and an assor**ent of fresh salads and tasty meat dishes. We had not brought gaiters for our trek to see the mountain gorillas. The next morning, they provided them along with a hot lunch for our hike. When we returned, they cleaned the mud off our boots, and served us an another mazing hot meal. They provided a complimentary massage, and treated us like family, coming home after a long absence. They were so gracious, helpful and attentive. We highly recommend this boutique hotel with reasonable prices.

Amazing boutique hotel with 2 rooms and 2 big cottages with big bathrooms and fireplace. The view from your window is like a picture…. The whole property is with beautiful landscape, flowers, butterflies and all kind of birds. The lounge is a family style, you got to know all the staff the chef host security etc. We spent 3 nights over there and it was so unique, that it was hard to leave. Great location very close to volcanoes National park, 10 minutes walk to the museum and ten minutes to all the villages that you want to visit. The food was incredible!!! And the chef will owner any requests that you ask. I was addicted to all his different vegetables salad. The best part of that is that you got complimentary massage when you stay and Consdee Tuyishime was beyond’s amazing!!! Best massage ever!!! And trust me you need it after you track the gorillas. I forgot to mention great WiFi to share some pictures with your family and friends!!! Highly recommend!!! I will not stay in any other place. I lithely cry when I left.
