There were 2 people ahead of us at check-In but it was over 45 minutes before we were able to get to the desk. There was only one attendant and the people ahead of us had a lost reservation. Annoying but fine…. It happens. Then, our room key doesn’t work, we get replacements and those don’t work either. It’s now been over an hour and we still aren’t in our room…. The one front desk attendant is the ONLY person working and came up to let us in with a key…. But this meant delaying other peoples checkin so she could come upstairs with us. We finally get in and the tv does not work or turn on…. The list goes on. All small things but the build up of items is really frustrating. The hotel looks completely dishelved, and dirty (the rooms however were clean enough though… the one and only saving grace. I should add the girl at the desk was very pleasant but clearly overwhelmed. These issues are not her fault but she’s been left alone to handle them. I saw other people heading back to the desk with tv remotes and keys… so I imagine we aren’t the only people having trouble. Anyways, we’ve previously stayed at the Quality Inn on ecclestone and will return there next time. We won’t come back here. Comparable price but absolutely not a comparable experience.

Very good hotel with very large space and rich breakfast. The operator at the front desk enthusiastically recommended the independent grocery supermarket and the restaurant Dock and bay, and the environment tastes first-class

The hotel is located near the former residence of the great communist warrior Bethune, on the side of the road to Algonquin Provincial Park (one of the best places to see the maple in Canada). It is very easy to find. You can see the maple leaves when you open the window in the room. Beautiful! Although on the side of the road, it is very quiet at night! The hotel is clean and tidy, and the beds are large (no extra beds are allowed). It is very loose to take a child to rest with. The rooms are not big, but they are well-equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, etc. The front desk service was very warm and thoughtful. Considering our age, it was very convenient to arrange our accommodation on the first floor. I also explained in detail to the map which places to enter Algonquin Provincial Park are the best places to appreciate the maple. It also tells us that we are very lucky, it happens to be the maple leaf blooming season. It is within walking distance to the Bethune Memorial, it is worth staying.

Booked due to proximity to Santa's Village yet found size and price of the 2 queen suite high; and not for a water view. Room was clean and had the wet bar amenities & comfy beds yet pictures online create an image of a much larger, 2 room apartment than a suite overlooking the parking lot and bus terminal - Hotel appears to be hub of activity - pool hall, bowling alley, boat cruise, restaurant (never open during stay), convenience store (open only when bus coming or going) & Northland bus station. Pool was large yet humid and did require a little searching behind gym & up stairs (not accessible by any means). Located on the river yet has undeveloped or underused patio space to take advantage of its location and no elevators on-site. Ice machine is a 50/50 gamble if working too -

The golf course is great, the accommodation conditions are average, the curtains in the room are small and do not block light, and the noise is a bit loud
