Just got back from a mini vacation at Touchstone Resort. We had a fabulous suite with a view of Lake Muskoka that was spectacular. The food and service were outstanding and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back for another visit.

One of the best resorts I have visited! The receptionist was really extremely helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. The restaurant served fresh and delicious food at lunch and dinner. The location of the property was absolutely perfect, close enough to neighboring towns and hiking sites. Private beach was very clean and water was refreshing, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relief to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

Decent place, it's somewhere between a cottage and a hotel. We loved the water off the dock, but the beach was shallow and ****y. The restaurant was great, but at these prices, there should be room service option too.

The resort is nice, good location and the lake shoreline is nice too. Room for the superior room is small and most of the views are blocked by trees, I suggest they should cut the top of some of them and our neighbours echo the same. No pot or pan, we have to ask for it in the morning and again after dinner and finally got a pan. Room is nice and clean otherwise. The only problem with our room is the fan is very noisy you can't sleep with it on. You can't open the patio door either no window in this room. Dining room service is great, food is ok to good but for the price I say the value is a 6. Great view from the dinning room too. For the regular price I say it is a 3 but we got a discount for week day so I give it a 4.

What a wonderful place to stay! The suite we stayed in was clean, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the restaurant - especially the fries! 😁 Beautiful waterfront - a great place to watch the sunset. We enjoyed swimming and lazing around on the beach! Overall a great holiday!

First visit but definitely will not be our last! Fantastic location close to Bracebridge and Port Carling, right on the water. The Deluxe Studio was well equipped with quality fixtures and super clean. We were able to enjoy the screened in room and the balcony equipped with a full sized bar-b-que while we enjoyed the spectacular view of Lake Muskoka. Additionally the kitchenette had a full sized refrigerator, microwave and 2 burner induction stove top. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the nights we stayed due to the time of year but we were aware of that when we booked so we took full advantage of the kitchen and bar-b-que. The gas fireplace provided warmth and ambience in the evening. Comfy bed, luxurious bath towels, jacquzzi tub, heated bathroom floor…they haven’t missed a thing! Highly recommend for a quick, mid week get away, can wait to return!

What an awesome place to stay! We took part in so many activities. Paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and of course just lounging around the beach, pool or hot tub. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Outward appearance of the resort is so gorgeous!!! For sure a repeat customer!!!

Just returned from a three night trip and unfortunately will not return. The redeeming factor for touchstone is its setting on beautiful lake Muskoka. Unfortunately the complete lack of service and cleanliness let the location down. Check in /out Staff were a bit unwelcoming on arrival. No greeting when arriving at front desk. Room was not ready at 4pm. Staff were to call when ready and never did-we had to follow up. Late check out granted for 1130 but keys stopped working at 11 anyway and we were locked out of the room. Room Lakeview studio rooms are tiny. Our room was also not clean. The carpet was filthy and stained. There was visible dirt. I ended up cleaning the room myself on arrival because if the carpet is that dirty how clean are the other surfaces? No daily housekeeping but also no pick up for used towels or replenishing of linens. Duvet has no cover-just between two sheets-unsanitary if the duvet itself is not being laundered between guests. Infinity Pool/hot tub Dirty. Visible green algae in infinity pool and dirt/brown grime in hot tub No towels available at pool. Front desk has those. Dock and beach areas Some construction near beach but we didn’t find it too disruptive. Consider turning down the music at Bobs, we heard other guests comment it was too loud and we had to agree. Restaurant Food was tasty. Service friendly if slow (waited over an hour for food and then 25 mins for bill). Nice view We really did not see any staff around other than front desk and restaurant. It really doesn’t appear that the resort is maintained by anyone on a daily basis. Overall, the value is just not there for the money. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing properties from a mom and pop motel to Jade Mountain Resort and at over $500 a night the value just isn’t there for Touchstone. A bunch of somewhat minor missteps really do add up! This place has so much potential but at the moment I would call this a condo complex rather than a resort and sadly will not return.

From start to finish our stay at touchstone felt like a movie - a comedy. We arrived on Monday - everything was closed. We couldn’t even get so much as a tea or bottle of water at the “resort,” let alone lunch or dinner. Zero food or beverage could be purchased at Touchstone the entire day or evening. At check-in, I tried to book a spa appt, and the reception explained that they have no connection to the spa (which is literally steps away from the reception desk), and I’d need to book any appts through the spa directly. Of course they were closed. She also explained that there would be no in-room housekeeping throughout the stay, “due to COVID.” Though all staff walk around sans mask and had no problem walking right into our room when we had an issue. I’m 8 months pregnant and was looking forward to taking out a paddle boat as advertised on their website, because a canoe wouldn’t be comfortable. I was then informed, “No paddle boats until June.” This morning I woke up excited to finally eat on the outdoor patio of the only restaurant on site. I go down to find a completely empty restaurant. “Restaurant opens at 12pm.” There is NO breakfast option at Touchstone. I’ve never been to a resort that wants you to leave the resort this much to spend $. We then drove into town looking for a restaurant and come to find many restaurants are closed on Tuesday’s. We ended up at McDonald’s. Right before we ventured to find something to eat, we checked in with the spa to make an appt. “Our RMT and Esthetician have both called in sick today. Unfortunately we can’t offer any appointments. But thanks for coming in!” Wonderful. Onto the resort itself. My “superior lakeview room” is tiny and not very attractive. But I will say the grounds themselves are quite lovely. There is a beautiful large dock (which is immaculately clean (looks unused), infinity pool and hot tub, but difficult to fully enjoy without the ability to purchase any food or beverage whatsoever (and no bathroom access from the docks). And finally on our last day, I was enjoying the barren dock before checkout at noon, and headed back up to the room at 10:30am to use the bathroom and pack up (since the bathroom on the dock is closed). Yet another hiccup - our room keys don't work and we are locked out of the room. I called the front desk and she explained the room keys stop working at 11. Except it’s not 11 yet, and I had confirmed late checkout for noon. Her explanation was that “some keys stop working at 11 some stay working until 12.” Hmm. Except, as I repeated, it was not yet 11. Holding in a pee (which isn’t easy to do at 8 months pregnant), I have to trek back to the lobby bathroom and get new room keys for the last hour of the trip. After relieving myself I decided to head back down to the dock to soak up some final rays, then head back to the room at 11:40 to pack up and check out. The keys don’t work again !! If you want to come to Touchstone - don’t come before June, bring water bottles and
