Yvie94Got early check in after submitting two new emails to be registered for Ascott rewards. Assigned to 807 and sighted a few drain flies upon entering, small issue compared to what we faced later. Spotted 2 plaster bagworms, and toilet bowl had bugs surfacing repeatedly despite lid being down. Photos for both attached. Gave feedback to front desk and waited for duty manager to arrive (started waiting from 5.22pm), then went back to room while DM prepared a new room. Waited for about 25 mins and we decided to head to the lobby with our luggage as nothing was happening. We were offered the suite at 808 but tried to explain before entering 808 that the corridor was infested with the insects, he shrugged (prolly language barrier here). 808 had the same issue and the DM initially tried to explain it was not a bug and we had to show him photos on google, and also spotted a bagworm with the worm (photo for second room attached) inside on our way out. We told the DM we did not want an upgraded room, and just wanted a clean room that had no insects. Next room we were offered was 1305 which thankfully had no bugs and smelled a lot fresher. It was 6.07pm when we put our bags down and had to wait “5 mins” for keys to be delivered. Nothing happened after 20 mins and we had a dinner reservation to head to, called front desk and they sent the security guard up to hand us the room keys, not sure this is correct protocol? Around midnight we could hear the tv from next door, luckily front desk sent someone up within minutes. This was more an unlucky experience with inconsiderate guests next door, but soundproofing could be improved as we could hear their doorbell loud and clear when front desk came up to check the situation. Anyway we checked out a day earlier as we didn’t feel comfortable and well-rested.

Aisha SamadI love the location the most. Fuss-free hotel tbh. Only issue i have with this hotel is that there is no power socket by the bed. So i have to charge it next to the tv. Also the toilet had a backflow issue which is gross - this is fixed by the hotel after i mentioned it to them. Not my first stay here. If you’re not fussy, want cheap and convenient, then this hotel is it. Please get the breakfast along with your rooms as it’s more worth it that way and the food is REALLY GOOD.

JoycelsleeThe staffs are very friendly. We went there quite early and our room not yet ready. The staff offer us to store our bags with them so that we no need to carry so heavy around. By the time we come back i realise the card for deposit bags had lost. The staff is so kind ask the type of our bag and even show us the pic of our bags to confirm before passing to us. The room is not very big but just nice for two of us to stay. wif connection is good. There is a pleasant nice smell in the lobby or even in the room. The only part is the toiletries for bath and shampoo is 3 in 1 which me myself personally dont really used to it. The buffet food ok sitting area not big enough if all come in at the same time. The surrounding area got massages, salon and chinese/hala food credit to the points which no need to go so far from the hotel.

Delon AngFirst time to Batam, hotel location is next to the mall which you may get what you need from mall and shops nearby.
The hotel breakfast had variations choice and good. Overall the experience staying in this hotel was great.
There is a swimming pool at Level 2 and and massage center inside hotel with reasonable price.
If you are coming over follow those youtuber and online recommendations, you are a bit remote and need to go by car. This place may be good for business traveller but for backpacker or light traveller, you may choose to stay near the attractions where you can reach within walking distance.

Guest UserThe hotel is very clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is small and dirty when we were there. Kids walking around at the breakfast area and jumping in and out from the pool to breakfast area. No proper towels provided for the pool. My room is clean but face a block of construction wall which looks really eerie at night. I think they are in the midst of extension their hotel. Blackout twice but power came back fast. Despite the small imperfect, it is still a very comfortable hotel which I will go back to in Batam.

Room was relatively clean except ants on the table. However the toilet was a little dirty. The sink kept getting clogged. Ac was great and cold. The lift is very slow.

Anonymous UserGood service and location, but room condition and pre-booking transparency need improvement
We booked two different room types: a one-bedroom unit with living room and a Studio.
First, the positives. The service team was responsive and helpful through WhatsApp. The standard check-in was 3:00 PM, but when we asked at around 1:30 PM whether early check-in was possible, they managed to let us check in at approximately 1:45 PM. We genuinely appreciated this.
The location was good and the property itself has good potential. Unfortunately, the condition of the units did not quite match what we expected for the price paid.
The one-bedroom + living room unit had an unpleasant smell, visible pre-existing damage to the decorative wall below the TV and other wall maintenance issues. The bedroom door also felt unusually thin and lightweight, affecting the sense of privacy and sound insulation.
The Studio unit had no usable curtain covering the large glass window/balcony door beside the bed, affecting privacy and rest. We later found what appeared to be the curtain stored in a drawer, but the required holding bar was missing so we could not reinstall it.
We also found broken plastic components stored in a kitchen cupboard. More importantly, the entrance-door strike plate was loose and the surrounding frame showed cracking. We sometimes had to manually press the strike plate into position in order to properly close and lock the door.
These appeared to be pre-existing maintenance issues.
Another surprise was that detailed House Rules were only provided through WhatsApp on the day of check-in. These included no daily housekeeping, no replacement of towels/linen/amenities during the stay, and a requirement for guests to dispose of their own rubbish before checkout.
We understand that an apartment/residence operates differently from a full-service hotel, and we do not expect 5-star hotel service. However, important service conditions should be clearly disclosed before booking and payment so travellers can make an informed choice.
Likewise, an apartment does not need to be perfect. Cosmetic wear can be acceptable. But known defects or missed maintenance should ideally be addressed before check-in or communicated to the guest beforehand, particularly when they affect privacy, security or normal use of the room.
As travellers, we also do not expect to become room inspectors immediately after arrival, photographing every existing scratch, damaged wall or fitting simply to establish that we did not cause it.
For the price paid, the condition unfortunately felt below some less expensive inns/hotels we have previously stayed in.
This is not a bad property. The location is good, the service team was responsive, and with better maintenance and pre-arrival quality control it could be a very nice place to stay.
Our main disappointment was the loss of informed choice. Had we known the actual condition and service arrangements beforehand, we could have accepted them, requested another available unit, or chosen different accommodation before arriving.
Overall: good service, good location and good potential, but room maintenance, quality control and transparency before booking need improvement.
