The lodge is in a fantastic location but the pictures of the outside mask a tired and run down hotel desperately in need of modernisation. We stayed for 2 nights and our rooms were very disappointing. Booked for us via our safari with Trailfinders we were I Italy staying for 1 night but paid £980.00 for two rooms for an extra night based on photos before we travelled. Total rip off. Sorry. Dirty shower room, stained bedding and mosquito net. Dodgy electrics and light fittings. Was just really disappointing. The positive about the lodge is the staff. Really great and always very welcoming. Food was okay but lacked variety and choice. Can’t recommend this hotel.

The resort is set on a hill overlooking the plains around the sides of Lake Nakura. A super main lodge area welcomes you. From reception, general information, resort shop, and resort amenities. The whole site is inside an electric fenced compound, so it is safe to explore the immediate area if you wish. Our cabin was up a short set of tracks and was very smart and comfortable. The bed itself was incredible, so comfortable. The only slight thing I could say is that the bathroom facilities were functioning and clean, but did need a bit of updating. The restaurant was superb, with a wide range of choices available, both for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Other facilities include an extensive gift shop, swimming pool, and games areas. Again complimentary bottled water is provided in your rooms, but otherwise be careful how you use water for any health concerns. Other than that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay over two nights. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and only took happy to assist.
