Redgum Hill Country Retreat

My two daughters and I have just had 2 fabulous nights in Duffy's Cottage. From the moment we walked in the charm had us. Everything was perfect. It wasn't long before we had the fire going and dinner cooking. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the comfort, peace and beauty of the location. The cottage is well equipped and appointed. We enjoyed walks around the garden, observing the wild life and the spa! The hosts, Judith and Dirk, are very friendly and willing to help when needed. (We had to ask for sugar for our dessert recipe!) We would love to return in future.

Duffys cottage was clean and tidy. It had a small table top oven and hot plates on top for use. The two couldn’t be used together. A microwave available too. Plus a BBQ. The kitchen was equipped okay. Unlike many stays now no oil or other simple cooking supplies were available. No pay it forward cupboard, which can be really helpful. The veranda lights could not all be used, only the central one of three, as one of the bedrooms was locked that had the light switch in it. This was a bit dangerous as the spa had no light (tucked around the side by the locked bedroom) and it was difficult to see without using phone torches. All up a lovely place but be mindful that the surrounding area has with limited food offerings after 3pm so be prepared to cook. The BBQ was the best option we found. One last thing the owners, whom I spoke to Dirk, all very nice but didn’t reply to my emails or txts. So don’t expect communications to flow. I found phoning to be the best way to obtain answers.
