The Shore House

The website shows large rooms and a beautiful old building, but most availability is in an annex structure that was obviously built to jam in as many people as possible. It’s cute, and they really tried to make these small spaces as unique and quirky as possible, but for what they charge, it’s not worth it. Looking for rooms that don’t match the website? Interested in paper-thin floors so you hear every single bit of movement above you? How about a restaurant that doesn’t serve breakfast? Sinks so small and awkward placed under a shelf that you might as well just cup water in your hands and dump it on yourself. Would you like to hear the people in adjacent rooms go to the bathroom? If any of these things sound like a good use of your $, then this is the place for you!!! Beach is close, so that’s how they get you, but there are much better spots up and down the coast that cost the same.

A friend and I were travelling to Block Island on 4/3, but were stuck on the mainland as the ferries were not running due to a Nor'Easter, We were able to get a room for that night at the Shore House. The Concierge Isabella was very understanding and let us check in a little early. Granted it is off season and rooms are not in high demand, however she could have made us wait till normal check in time! Our plans were again up in the air the following morning as the storm pulled away. The Ferry was not going to run their morning ferries and were not sure about the status of the afternoon boat. Again, Isabella was empathetic with our situation. We did leave early that afternoon. We stayed in one of the "motel" style rooms on the 2nd floor and had a view of the waves rolling in. The room was an adequate size and the beds were comfortable. It is in walking distance to a cozy cafe called Cool Beans Cafe. It was rainy and windy while we were there, so we were unable to enjoy the room's balcony. I am sure it is lovely in finer weather! I would definitely recommend the Shore House.

My wife and I stopped in for drinks and the ocean view. We were served by Conor, who made us feel very welcome. Conor is an expert bartender and knows the area very well. The drinks and appetizers were excellent and we very much enjoyed our time there.

The view was fabulous the food was and service was great and the maid service was great.

I really thought i was staying inside the house when booking . but i was put in a room at the back side . The did switch my room so I could get a balcony with a view . The room was very nice. But the parking lot was noisy and you could here the kitchen staff. The morning had a nice construction truck backing up with that beeping to wake you up. The food was not good very very disappointed for the price. I've had better flat bread pizza at a chain and that is saying a lot. The restaurant staff was wonderful .

The room itself was disappointing. No dresser to put clothes in, one small rack over the refrigerator to hang clothes, very tiny bathroom with no shelves or anything to put your items on. Not what we expected.

Very cute updated rooms! Close to lots of places, although quite a few things seemed to be closed in October- no fault of the hotel, just us not realizing there is an "off season"

We really enjoyed our recent stay at The Shore House. The room was clean and very comfortable. We had a great view of the water, and had a great night of sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would love to stay here again.
