This place was such a nightmare. My mom, brother, and I all stayed in separate rooms. My mom paid for the reservation and also stayed an extra day. I checked out a day early, in front of both my mom and obviously the hotel staff. Over a week after checkout, I see a charge from the hotel on my credit card for $400. My brother and I only left credit cards for incidentals (if we bought something in the room), which we specifically told the hotel. When I asked what the $400 charge was for, one staff member said it was from a $100 destination/ resort fee times 4 for the 4 nights we stayed there- except that didn’t make sense because both my brother and I checked out after 3 days (also it still shouldn’t have been charged to my card since I didn’t make the reservation). I then had to wait until the next day for the sales team to reverse the charge. The sales team told me I’d been (incorrectly) charged for an extra night. So which was it? Even their invoice which I requested was unclear. Pretty shady. It took over 10 phone calls after being hung up on multiple times, redirected to someone’s answering machine who wasn’t there, etc. for them to finally refund the charge. If I wasn’t as assertive, it would have taken them a lot longer because of how incompetent and disorganized they are. I had to call multiple times to make sure they’d actually sent the refund through (they said they would at one point, but found out they didn’t until I called again). It really seemed like this was not at all a priority for them, and they were only interested in covering their tracks. $400 wasn’t bank-breaking for me, but for other people it might be. If you have to stay here, definitely only leave one card and be sure to check everything in your credit card statements afterwards.
