A clean, but "bare bones" hotel in a great location. We stayed for 4 or 5 days, and the front desk staff always seemed a bit indifferent / uninterested. I might give the hotel a better rating, but for what happened on the second night of our stay: My family and I were in our room sleeping at 11:45 at night when we were woken by a knock at our door... then a second knock. Worried, and a bit scared, we did NOT open the door. We immediately called the lobby and reported it. Without hesitation, the desk attendant said, "Oh... there was a call from a neighboring room about their TV needing repair. We sent up the service man, but he went to your room by mistake... sorry." Still a bit scared, it took us a while to get back to sleep. Later, when Hilton sent us an online survey about our stay, I detailed the incident there, and received an email response from a "Bobby Jones" (no title) who said that they "don't have any overnight maintenance at that time of night." ... and went on to suggest it was probably someone who "had an amazing night on Broadway" and knocked on the wrong door. So I had been LIED TO by the front desk that night. In the middle of the night, I was told the repeated knocking on my door was a TRU / HILTON employee... what if I had opened the door? This is a potentially dangerous situation. When a guest reports someone wandering the halls knocking on doors, the front desk should DO SOMETHING about it, not lie to us, and tell us it is a hotel employee.
