Country House Paddington

I was so glad I was able to book accommodation during the May holidays 😊 The guesthouse was a very homey place to stay, reasonably priced, and perfectly adequate for just sleeping. There seemed to be many baths, but they were located directly below my room, and I was startled by the loud noises. No wonder it said bathing was only allowed until 10 pm! I don't think I could have slept all night (lol). It was a breakfast-included plan, but the landlady said she got up at 5 am to prepare it, though it wasn't as elaborate as I expected. Besides soggy rice and a vegetable stew, there was a little bit of stir-fried food*, a vegetable salad, half a slice of thin ham, and some snacks that looked like they were from a wholesale supermarket, so I thought it was about what you'd expect for the price. The landlady seemed like a very kind person, and she was running the place almost entirely by herself. I hope she takes care of her health while continuing to work. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced trip to Nasu Highlands.

The room felt old. I wish the room and the bathroom were a little cleaner, but the owner was friendly and talked to me about various things, so I didn't have a bad impression. I felt that if I took advantage of the situation and started talking too much, we would both get tired, so I didn't talk much and spent most of my time listening. There are many different customers, and if you stay quiet, it's rude, so customer service is difficult. I could feel the hospitality. I didn't have meals, but the tea and sweets I had in the morning were very delicious. Everyone has different opinions, but even if you ignore the age and cleanliness of the room, it leaves an impression, and I think that's what led to the high rating.

This time, I decided to stay at this inn because I saw the promotional photos of the inn on the internet, thought the room and bath had a good atmosphere, and there were many good reviews. I believed those photos and visited with my girlfriend (wife). We were looking forward to spending some time together, but the result was disappointing. It was a very unpleasant trip. I am really sorry that we spent time and money on this experience. The photos on the internet were so different from the reality that I think this is a problem. It is strange that there are so many good reviews on the internet. At the very least, I thought this inn was not suitable for spending a nice time with a lover. <Reasons why the stay was unpleasant> ■As soon as we arrived and entered the building, there was a strange smell near the entrance. ■We had a photo shoot, but perhaps the owner misunderstood us because the building was old and the strange atmosphere was confusing, and he suddenly taught us how to smile. *We were both confused by this, as we normally have no problem smiling, but since the owner is elderly, we understood and decided to go along with it. ■There was also a strange smell inside the room. Furthermore, the room was far from the photos on the internet, and we were surprised by the old and dark atmosphere. ■The carpet, sofa, and curtains in the room were old and dirty, and the sheets did not look clean, so I felt like I didn't want to touch them at all. ■The toilet in the room did not have a washlet. The small TV was placed on top of a small refrigerator. ■The bathroom also looked nice in the photos, which was one of the reasons we decided to stay here, but in reality it was different. The outdoor bath was not usually used, so there were spider webs, dirt, and no cleanliness within sight, so we decided to turn back without taking a bath. ■There were two groups of guests staying that day, and the only other guests were a family of three with a small child. During the meal, the owner was in the middle of the dining room and started giving a long explanation of the ingredients and attention to detail of the dishes to all the guests on one plate. Although we were enjoying the conversation between the two of them, we were interrupted every time the food was cooked and had to listen to the owner's story. ■During the meal, the owner interrupted us while we were talking and started talking about his past. We had no choice but to join in the conversation so as not to be rude to the elderly owner. Even so, he often interrupted us and started talking about himself again. This time we visited to enjoy time together. We did not visit to learn about the owner's background or to listen to his stories. At both dinner and breakfast, we were forced to listen to the owner's stories about his upbringing, and it was not relaxing at all. I thought that they should have been more considerate of us, who are paying guests. ■I was surprised at how the plates were placed carelessly and just put down. They explained the details of the food, but I didn't feel that it was particularly delicious, and I thought it was at the level of an ordinary Western restaurant. ■The lobster we ordered as an option was different from the photos posted and the photos other guests have posted in the review section. The lobster was just placed on the plate without any plating. The owner asked us if we could serve it tomorrow morning, as he had forgotten to order the lobster. In the end, they decided to grill it during dinner, but I thought they were in a hurry or had cut corners. When we checked out, they asked if they could post a photo of us on the internet, but we declined. I have stayed at many inns, but I have never felt this bad. The owner's lack of consideration for his own position and his inconsiderate behavior towards his guests was disappointing and infuriating. He asked me to bring my son next time, but I will never visit again.

遅くまで営業してる飲食店もあり良かった スタッフのお母さんがとても親切で良かった

BOXテッシュが2枚だけだった。タオルが使い古されてる臭いがした。卓上にあった空気清浄機の下が埃だらけ。

お風呂が5か所あり、楽しめた。
