Shofuro Matsuya

This traditional Japanese onsen hotel is nestled in a deep mountain valley, offering stunning views and a relaxing hot spring experience amidst the sound of a gurgling stream. You can reach the hotel directly by JR bus from the west exit of Nasushiobara Shinkansen Station (see photo 4). For your return journey, the bus stop is Fukudo-guchi Station, about 300 meters away. Check-in is at 3 PM, but if you arrive early, you can take the bus six more stops to Shiobara Monzen for a meal.

The room was clean and hygienic, the staff were friendly, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the WiFi speed was the best and fastest I had during this trip. I would stay here again!

The room was Japanese-style and the experience was great. Being in the mountains was so relaxing; you couldn't see a soul, haha. Aside from a slight odor from the hotel, everything else was perfect. Those who like off-the-beaten-path experiences should definitely give it a try!

The food, the service from the staff, and the flowing river in front of the inn were soothing. I would like to go again.

You can't enter the hotel until 3 pm, and you have to clean it up before that time. You can only check in at 3 pm before. This is the first time that I can’t enter the hotel if I arrive early! There are not many service staff, maybe they are too busy. However, the room was not bad. Dinner was delivered to the room, and a Chinese girl served us. It is rare to have a Chinese-speaking waiter in such a remote place. There is a self-service bar in the lobby, where you can take drinks at will.

After visiting the grave, I stretched my legs and stayed at Shiobara Onsen. The baths and food were both very good. The people at the inn were also kind and welcoming. I'll be staying with you again. Thank you very much. m(_ _)m
