This house is amazing. Beautiful and gorgeous furnishings. Grounds are beautiful and private. Breakfast was excellent. Only problem we noted was there was no gathering space indoors and some maintenance on the house would have made it easier to navigate the stairs.

Arriving at Linden, a historic 6th generation residence dating back to 1790, nestled on seven pristine acres of tranquil land where birds harmoniously sing, I was greeted by the enchanting charm of this Southern antebellum home – that would be my bed and breakfast experience in Natchez, MS! The sight of Spanish moss and the large oak trees took my breath away. I rushed out of my car to quickly snap photos of the beautiful grounds, the European-like gardens, and the grand exterior of the house. Linden's fame is well-deserved, as I discovered during my pre-trip research. The main front door was the model used to create the entrance of Scarlett's Tara from "Gone with the Wind", and the house featured a 98-foot foyer and an impressive collection of Federal-style furniture. A property listed on the National Register of Historic Places; Linden embodies all the quintessential characteristics of the South. Its grandeur and beauty made me wish my husband was there to share the experience with me, but even more reason to return! The front and back porches of the house are beautifully designed and are perfect spots to forget about time. After exploring the town that evening and having had dinner, I returned to Linden around 9pm to find my hosts, David and Marjorie chatting with guests on the back porch. Linden’s back porch acts as a bridge between the home and its guests, having brought us together in a seamless blend as if we were meant to be, destined to get to know each other. Though tired after a full day of driving and activities, I couldn’t resist sitting for a while and joined in on the pleasant conversation that lasted until midnight! Fun fact: before electricity and air conditioning, people used breezeways to catch the wind and escape the summer heat. Today, the breezeway is a socializing spot for enjoying drinks and conversation. While the porches might be one of the favorite parts of the house, the most famous though, is its front door. If you've seen the famed movie 'Gone With the Wind', you'll recognize the grand front door of the Tara plantation, which was inspired by Linden's door! My room, called 'Feltus', is located on the main floor of the west wing and offers a cozy and charming a**osphere. It’s grand stature with its beautiful hardwood floors, four poster bed, fireplace and bath exude hygge comfort and charm. The elegant four-poser bed is positioned in the center of the room, allowing a view of the garden or the surrounding porch through windows on all sides. During a recent bathroom renovation, a wall made of bricks from the adjoining fireplace was discovered – a stunning architectural find. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a personalized welcome letter, as well as water and snacks. Marjorie, who later greeted me, commented that staying in the Feltus room truly felt like a vacation. I often judge a B&B by its bed linens and bathroom towels. The bed pillows were plump, perfect to sink into and the bed ever so comfortable. Its lin

The room was clean, beautifully done with quality linens, etc. Linden is beautiful but the west side that is seen when driving up to guest parking as well as the courtyard area needs care. (Shutters drooping, chipping paint) The door to the bathroom in our room did not have a latch or a way to even close it for privacy. (A $3.00 hook and eye latch from the hardware store would remedy this easily) This property has so much potential and could be an absolute show stopper with some tweaks—the courtyard could be a stunning and fun social area with a fountain and bar, etc.

The room was quite comfortable. Our breakfasts were always tasty and varied throughout our 4 day stay. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The house tour was interesting and enjoyable. Linden is well located out of the hustle and bustle. Therefore we could truly relax. We have visited Natchez several times and we always stay at Linden.

Very nice experience. The staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was great, Room was big enough but could have used a chair. House is old and slightly rundown but the whole a**osphere was very pleasant.

We had a wonderful stay in the Feltus Room at the Linden Historic Bed and Breakfast. Our room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. We enjoyed visiting Natchez and the house was a lovely respite after a day touring and exploring. The lawn and porches are divine and a perfect place for morning coffee or a game of scrabble. The breakfasts were delicious in a beautiful dining room, I enjoyed eating at the table and visiting with the other guests. If you get a chance to the official tour of the house, it's worth your time.

Linden Historic House is a wonderful place to stay and we found it, basically, on the spur of the moment! You should find it too! We did not plan to go to Natchez, but we had to change our plans because a tornado came through where we were planning to stay. Linden House was recommended to us by my sister-in-law who had stayed there previously. We called her in a panic, she suggested Linden House...so we just popped up on their doorstep. We were greeted so hospitably....it turns out by the one of the owners, David Hawkins. They had one more room to lend (it was during pilgrimage) and we took it! The room was cozy, clean and comfortable. The other owner, Marjorie, invited us to join them and their guests that night for an evening get together. Super friendly. The breakfast the next morning was hot, huge and delicious! We decided to take the tour of the house - you should too. I LOVE visiting older homes and hearing their stories, so I have been on many tours. This one was one of the best ones I have taken. As an architect, David made the tour even more interesting. The house has been in Marjorie's family for six generations and the home still has a lot of antiques that are from the family or are fabulous finds from Marjorie's travels (she is an interior designer). If you want to relax and feel pampered....stay at Linden House. We had a positively wonderful experience and I think you will too.
