Beautiful place for anyone on a budget. Lovely service. Room very basic but that’s what you’re paying for. Loved it

Very happy with management and staff ,made us feel so welcomed and always willing to help out if we had any problems. Can't say enough about the the staff they are special people. They staff made our family feel like their family, always happy and always went out there way to make our stay great. If you want to get down to the simple living this is the place to stay, no TV but does have WiFi. Plenty of activities for the family ,you don't need to leave the Resort if you wish. The main City is about 1and 1/2 hours way . They can offer a shopping trip if you wish. If you want to relax and like resort activities this is the place to stay. My family and i loved it and would go back again.

Mango bay resort is a beautiful private little resort with bungalows in a lovely tropical garden. The beach is right in front of the restaurant for a beautiful view and free snorkelking, kayaking and paddle boarding in the private bay. Food was delicious (love the Fish tacos), prompt and very affordable. Ed and his team are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you and make it a great experience to stay there. We just got home yesterday and are already missing the place.

I loved this place; I was just happy to be here. Set in these beautiful gardens and equidistant from the key places I needed to go for excursions, with a beach front bure, my stay was wonderful. It was very chilled and inexpensive. I have read some of the complaints and it feels like people are expecting 5 stars for 2 star prices. There were some minor issues like the "roof" dandruff that i wish they had cleaned away properly everyday and the shower head could do with some TLC but overall I thought it was great value for the money I spent. My only request is that they provided pick up and drop off for their staff at the top of the horrendous, steep lane to the hotel, and provided the ability to add tips to the bills as I would have liked to leave the lovely and very hard working staff something. Overall I would recommend

We were in a hire car and found mango bay at the end of a long unsealed road. You never know what you are going to find at the end of tracks like this (part of the fun) what a great place to land. Set in a tropical jungle garden that opens onto a beautiful bay. Lovely pool and bar/restaurant area but lots of little secret peaceful places to hang out. Staff were very warm and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. The bures are basic but gives you everything you need. The location is second to none. Excellent value for money. If you are looking for a small, secluded beautiful location with heart and soul without the price tag, this is it. Also a special mention to the 3 resident dogs, mango, Pablo and puppy (sorry forgot name) who were also super friendly and fun and liked to guide you on your walk around the bay.

What a wonderful way to begin our stay in Fiji! I was travelling with my two daughters, 4 and 8, who were welcomed like family from the onset. Ed was instrumental in the success of the stay, from the prompt answers of offshore queries to paddle boarding with one of my girls, he did it all. Vinaka vaka levu to Meli, Wash, Seta, Naomi and Daniel for all the brilliant hospitality. Going without wifi and air conditioning was refreshing, and waking to the sound of the ocean was without comparison. No frills, but no complaints at all. We’ll be back.

Staying at Mango Bay, was probably the best decision I made. Ed and Jen, made my trip 1000% better. I was travelling alone, and they made me feel safe and never lonely. 5 star service, and from stories I heard on day tours, the service I received at Mango Bay, was far beyond that other tourist received at their proper 5 star resorts. The location it downright breathtaking, and the resort felt more authentic to Fijian culture than any other resort I saw. Before arriving in Fiji, I had absolutely nothing planned, but Ed was able to get me on to tours/experiences that I wanted each day I was there. The food was beyond amazing! I'm a picky eater, and they were very accommodating to that. Honestly, no words will ever be enough to thank Ed and Jen for my trip, I'll miss you guys until I can visit again one day. Sorry not sorry for eating all the pineapples.

If you are looking for a 5 star luxury experience that is the same everywhere in the world, choose a different place. If you want to experience real Fiji with authentically kind staff and in an authentic, relaxing beach environment, with just a few guests, stay here. It is about a two hour drive from Nadi airport to get to the resort and it is the start of an authentic Fiji experience (we rented a car so we drove to the resort ourselves). We drove down narrow country roads where street markets were abundant, the Fijians and stray dogs walked alongside the roads in the numerous villages, farm animals grazed, and dense jungles and open ocean vistas were observed. Next we found the narrow dirt road down to the resort. This set the tone for our stay. We just spent 4 nights in 2 beachfront bures with our teenage sons and were treated like VIPs. This is a very small family-owned resort that just reopened for business on Dec. 24, 2021 after being closed for 20 months and so they are working to bring the resort back to it's glory days. You have to give these small resorts credit for surviving during the shutdown and still reopening. Having said that, we were treated like gold here, and Ed and his staff bent over backwards to make us comfortable. During our stay only the beachfront and Oceanview bures were open, thus there were just a handful of guests around making it delightful to get to know everyone. Despite previous reviews, the photos of our beachfront bures were accurate, just missing the bed netting. The bures have thatched roofs so they were naturally dark (someone complained about this in an early review) but they were unique to stay in and contributed to the authentic feel. They were simple with a comfortable bed, lights, an overhead fan and a working mini-fridge. Each bure has an outside shower (again, fun and unique). We always had hot water. I must admit that without a fan blowing it can get very buggy inside the bures as there is an open gap between where the wall tops out and the roof comes down. My sons were eaten alive on the first night because they didn't have the fan going. The next night staff made sure the fan was working, gave us mosquito coils for the rooms, and bug spray. That took care of that problem. And having the opening in the bure let the sounds of the waves flood in. As for customer service, Ed went far out of his way to recommend and arrange activities for us, fix transportation issues for us, and make repeated calls for us to make sure everything was OK with our next hotel (which we heard may be closed). He and activities staff kept my teenage boys engaged and off their devices. Speaking of devises, there is no TV on site (which we loved), limited wifi (we used our cell service most of the time when we needed to be connected), so it was nice to really power down and reconnect with each other. We brought cards and played with each other and other guests in the evenings in the dining room. When my sons got sunburnt,

I traveled to Fiji in December of 2021 ! I did my mandatory 3 day hold there while waiting for my negative covid results. I only booked there because it was fully booked everywhere else! I had never heard of this resort but what an absolute blessing it was. Mango Bay is the most perfect, peaceful & beautiful spot! One of the staff told me they'd just reopened the week I arrived (after 22 months due to covid, I believe), so things were still getting fixed & but no complaints. I was happy with my beach view bure (If i could live there, i would), the staff were amazing! The owner Ed was around all the time. and unlike anywhere else you'll stay, he'd stop to talk to you. ask how things were going & if you needed anything. This place is literally the best place to get away, whether for a vacation or if you just need a little weekend away ! My room didn't have an indoor shower, but it had an outdoor shower, which I absolutely loved! The food was amazing! I was actually blown away by how delicious every meal was! Speaking of food, You HAVE to ask for Jen's wontons - literally the most delicious wontons my partner and I have ever had! Only thing that bothered me were the mosquitoes, but you'll get bit everywhere in Fiji. Ed gave us mosquito coils to help! 150% recommend staying at Mango Bay! I also have a thing for resorts that have their own pets so that was a big pro for me! I will definitely be coming back & bringing my whole family. Thank you Mango Bay for an unforgettable stay!
