Bunker Hill Hotel

Hotel is very clean and has charm. Beds were comfy. Someone is trying with the curtains and bed assemble but needs some maintenance done to rooms..ceilings, lights, baseboards, showers. . Hairdryer didn't work, light in bathroom flickered, no shampoo etc just little bars of soap. Coffee maker but bring your own coffee. There was a small refrig/freezer in room. Breakfast was good. I think I would rebook but bring the amenities it lacked.

Great overall location. Bad neighborhood. Staff very courteous breakfast was ok. Property not as it is pictured. Very rundown. Damage in room and property overall disrepair. Pools are small With one located in the restaurant. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs with heavy luggage. ******* should remove from their list of options.

Parking is horrendous. Only two off street places to park off a very busy street slightly dangerous for you and your vehicle. Many stairs. WiFi is iffy and not great. This property on par maybe with a motel 6. Now all that being said I did like my stay at this slightly quirky hotel. The woman at the front Joycelyn? was ready to help any and everyone with whatever be it helping to fit into a parking space or answer questions or anything else. She was awesome. This place gives you an authentic st Thomas stay and feel. Walking distance to the shops and such. Not close to any beaches. Grocery store is about a 15 min walk and keep in mind almost everything closes early in this area. It is based primarily on the cruise boat tourists when they leave shops close. But anyway yes the hotel has many stairs and no bellman. Small maybe 6x12 pool but it was refreshing! Room is ok no drain plug in sink, shower weirdly set up so you at literally on the wall and grout is bad. Coffee pot but no coffee but a mini fridge. Wall Air conditioner loud but glad to have it since it was hot. Bed pretty comfy. Never got tv to work for local channels but we did have a fire stick but that was a pain because as previously stated the WiFi is iffy. Included bfast is limited but a good start to your day. All in all I have to say I’d stay here again. The hard part is the car situation. My car was hit and run- insurance nightmare and another persons scooter stolen same day.

The professionalism of the staff makes up for a lot. However, unless you like walking, it’s not very convenient to get anywhere and it’s on a hill that makes transportation a challenge.

I was hesitant staying here after looking at some reviews but we had an excellent experience. Clean, comfortsble, breakfast includrd which was a plus!!!! Walkable to the ferry, taxis, restaurants and shops!!! The front desk lady was super welcoming and helpful. One of our nights painting happened around the pool and my kids were a little upset that it was closed bit they survived that lol

Nicely staff

This property has great potential!! Super unique and could be awesome if there were some serious rehab and renovations done to it. We traveled with our 4 kids aged 12, 11, 8, 5 and I think they were the only kids there. The hotel is geared towards adults for sure. The pool is tiny and is supposed to only be used as a sitting pool so that wasn't fun for the kids. The rooms were not as clean as we are used to, but we still felt okay in them. The towels were all white, but a collection of many different kinds of towns, none soft or luxurious. There are LOTS and LOTS of stairs... like everywhere you go there are stairs. We liked the stairs and felt like it added to the coolness of the hotel. The staff was INCREDIBLE!! Joann at the front desk was helpful and kind. The server at breakfast was always super nice and happy to help! Breakfast was great in comparison to what we thought it was going to be. Not many options, but warm and cooked fresh. Al was incredible as well. Make sure you have plenty of cash for taxies as none take card. We learned the hard way and burned through hundreds in a matter of 2 days just getting our family too and from places. This is NO WHERE NEAR A BEACH.... like no beaches anywhere around. I wish I would have looked into that more before I booked as we are beach people. But the hotel was walking distance to the ferry that took us to St. John for a day trip. You can tell the staff truly loves this property and it's like a little family.

Staff was terrific -- friendly and extra helpful. Made me feel right at home and well cared for.
