Nea Kidonia Hotels with Airport pickup service

From the very beginning the owner welcomed us with such care. The place itself it’s located perfectly outside the rush of people but yet still so close to the city of Chania (8/10mins by car). The establishment is super nice and well kept surrounded by bamboo and olive trees. The rooms are near each other and most of them are overlooking the pool. Room itself was very very clean and towels,bedsheets,products were smelling really nice. You can see that the place is well maintained and taken very good care of! It’s also PET FRIENDLY with stray cats(which you’ll see either in the morning or at night without even bothering you) another reason why we booked this establishment as we brought our own dog which was well accepted without any additional costs or useless comments. Our holiday is still ongoing as we booked for 5 days but it’s a must to leave a positive comment to such a beautiful place and people. To who ever sees this post don’t think twice and just book it! Just a few minutes’ walk from Agia Marina Beach, Oscar Suites is set amidst flowery gardens and includes 2 swimming pools, an Italian bar-restaurant and a fitness room. Studios and apartments at Oscar are decorated in colourful tones and equipped with blackout curtains, air conditioning and hidden spotlights. Fitted with Cocomat mattresses, they all include a well-equipped kitchenette, wardrobe and a seating area with flat-screen TV. A hairdryer can be found in the modern bathroom. The Valentino Pasta & Grill restaurant serves Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner, while cocktails, snacks and ice creams can be enjoyed at the poolside bar. Buffet breakfast is prepared in the morning. Oscar is 9 km away from the picturesque town of Chania and 20 km from Souda International Airport. The hotel’s staff can make arrangements for car rentals and free private parking is provided on site.

Can only echo all the other reviews. From the moment you enter the clean smart reception there is an air of total relaxation. all of the staff were very attentive without being over the top. Special mentions go to Manager owner Petros whose genuine customer service and caring sets the culture for the entire hotel to restaurant staff Manolo and Anastasia both of whom are great characters and made the stay extremely enjoyable. The food was absolutely AMAZING the milanese risotto with ossobucco takes a lot of beating but this was surpassed by the lobster and scallop soup (see photo). We could not fault the room either. Yes is was one of the top rooms the dome suite 532 and yes the views from both inside and the pool were great. There was the coastal rd but did not interfere with the relaxing vibe. Prices within the hotel were very fair, often cheaper than outside (which is fantastic based on the quality). The Cretan wines recommended by Manolo were some of the best we have experienced. Would certainly book this again, just looking for the excuse now.

We decided to stay in the hotel having visited Agia Marina 6 years ago and passing it every time we walked down the hill from our (then) villa. We have not been disappointed! The room is clean and has all of the facilities you need. We have a balcony with great sea views (no sun, but can’t complain). We enjoyed the walk down to the beach/ main road every day and it took only 15 minutes (20 back, uphill). Some lovely local tavernas at the bottom too. Breakfast at the hotel has been lovely each day, with far more choice than I expected and with friendly staff. The pool is lovely and serene and (in May, at least), there are plenty of sun beds to relax on. HUGE SHOUT OUT to Akis and Maria who are both so warm and friendly! And Akis’ cocktails are fantastic (highly recommend the Chocolate Martini!).

Perfect stay in a lovely small-feel hotel right on the beach. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Sam and George in particular made us feel like VIPs! The breakfast spread was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel, with a vast range of cooked and continental options. Everything was spotless. The restaurant offers a good range of drinks and lunch (on the beach or on the lawn) and dinner in the evening. If you fancy a change of scenery for dinner, I recommend walking along the beach at sunset to eat at one of the many excellent beach bars towards to harbour.

We arrived in beautiful Chania and were dropped off on the main road opposite the little track up to the Nireas. I had read TA reviews so knew to expect that Christos, the owner, would offer us a room upgrade but we were happy with our original room which was Apt 24 on the ground floor with a fantastic large balcony opening straight onto the pool area. We paid €5 a night for air con which was really powerful, and €10 for the safe. The room was dated but more than adequate for us as we are used to Greek accommodation. There were 2 beds pushed together and then a single bed near the door which my son slept in. There was a 2 ring hob, microwave and kettle and basic utensils but we only ate breakfast in the apartment so it was more than enough. I think you would struggle to conjure up a Cordon Bleu meal though but with so many fabulous restaurants on the doorstep, it wasn’t a worry for us. There were a few things that made us chuckle…. the apartment door had been hung the wrong way so the handle was inside the room and not on the outside 🤣 and the usual Greek plumbing scenario with the shower head on the wall but the shower screen on the other side of the shower meaning the floor got soaked 🫣 but hey, it’s Greece 🇬🇷 The maid came in every day except a Sunday and the sheets/towels were changed regularly. There was a drying rack on the patio for hanging wet beach stuff up. Plenty of socket points and the beds were super comfy. The pool area was quiet but we only used it in the afternoons once we came back from the beach. There were always sunbeds and Christos was either there or available by WhatsApp. The WiFi worked fine in our rooms and by the pool. Kato Doratso is a residential suburb just 4km outside of Chania so a perfect location for us. Just down the little road from the hotel is a supermarket on the corner for all your essentials/bottles of water. There were 4 beaches within walking distance and we chose Sunset Beach due to the stunning clear water. It’s a bay so no tide and it was shallow for a great way out meaning our son could happily swim and play without us worrying too much. There was a bar on the beach and the owner did a mean Freddo Cappuccino ☕️ 👌🏽 You could buy salads, hot snacks and sandwiches, ice creams, crisps and drinks there. There were also chargeable sunbeds and parasols and you could hire a kayak or paddle board. There was another shop near the start of the hotels to the left of the bay. We bought a couple of parasols from the shop and lay on the beach. It was full of local families and we thoroughly enjoyed mixing with them. The bus into Chania is the #21. Come out of the hotel, down onto the main road and take a right along the path. Just past the car garage there’s a bus stop and a ticket machine. You need the exact change and it’s €1.10 each into town (€2 if you pay on the bus) When you are is in Chania, as you get off, there’s a ticket machine and a kiosk to buy return tickets and you can catch the bus back
