Location was perfect. No climb at all. Staff were so lovely, especially Angeliki who was helpful, funny and friendly. Her recommendations were spot on and were perfect for our visit. The room was great, we even had a balcony! The swimming towels were a great bonus! I will be back!!

The location is perfect. Very close to the port. With incredible views of the port. The accommodation is clean and very cozy. But the best was the service. Very attentive. They helped me with everything. I would definitely repeat

We are delighted with our stay at the Douskos guesthouse street Votsi d’Hydra. We enjoyed a large and magnificent room with an exceptional view of the port and the bay. Our hostess Daphné proved to be very kind, very welcoming and always ready to help, and moreover, speaking French. We hope to return one day and we highly recommend this address. A beautiful historic hotel renovated to accommodate modern conveniences. Right off the pier, you can watch the bustling view out the front window across the bay to the beautiful mountain. The only disadvantage is, there’s no lift to reach the second story, which is difficult for the disabled. But the staff is willing to come down and pick up our suitcases. The rooftop breakfast with their wonderful servers and cooks and and an amazing view can’t be beat! Food was delicious!

We loved Duskos Guest House. The hotel is small and our room was charming. We had a view of the harbor where we could watch the yachts and fishing boats coming and going as well as all the action on the street. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace had an equally stunning view. Juliette, the manager, was super helpful and accommodating and was kind enough to let me practice speaking Greek. We would absolutely recommend this hotel if you are looking for character and charm!

Delightful stay. Thank goodness the guest house had easy access to the port, no climb up and up through the lanes to where some accommodation is situated. I’d say rooms 1 and 2 might be the best. Room 4 was great, but there’s a lot of activity in the lane below, great to watch from the window, but can be noisey. Dafni was fabulous, as was Julietta, so helpful and obliging, I’d love to stay there again. Breakfast is in another premise on the port, lots of steps (but this is Hydra) but once up there the view is magnificent; we loved it. Everything about Hydra is wonderful and Douskos is a good place to enjoy it.

The advantages: -Very central location 2 minutes from the port. -Dafni very welcoming and considerate with us, very nice welcome. -the room (junior suite) was spacious, bright, super clean. the modern and well-equipped bathroom. The view from the room from the large balcony is super beautiful over the port. -The breakfast place is a 3 minute walk away yes there are stairs but the view of the port is magnificent. Our little guy even got a little surprise for his fallen tooth. The minuses: -the quality of the breakfast not up to 200 euros per night 🙁 sweet bottled orange juice, industrial waffle and spinach pastry reheated in the microwave, tasteless toast, etc. too bad - I have to be aware that the church bells ring at 7am and right next to the windows - the extra bed accommodated our little boy so ok but not very comfortable for adults I think
