Pihopa Retreat

ABSOLUTE GEM! we spent 2 nights on our self drive through NZ and have to say Pihopa was our favorite. Beautifully situated on a hillside, 5 minutes from town. Beautifully appointed rooms with two of the best nights of sleep.I've had in a long time. Sarah and her staff are the best. Predinner in the pool house, breakfast and arranging evening dinners. I will not go into great detail, as all the surprises should be yours. It's proximity to able tasman national park, make it a must stay retreat.

Pīhopa retreat is a small slice of heaven! From the scrumptious breakfast, caring team, and luxurious rooms, this is the most thoughtful hotel we have ever stayed at! It was the perfect way to kick off our honeymoon and we felt so welcomed by Sarah and her team!

I rarely write reviews and I rarely am over the moon impressed - and here I am. Our experience at Pihopa Retreat was impeccable. Sarah and her team made us feel taken care of in all ways, while it also felt like we were at our own retreat. Everything from the evening canapés and drinks, a dip in the heated pool, amazing breakfasts, evening port by the fire, homemade treats in our room to the organizing of dinners and taxi’s in town so we saw something of Nelson beyond Abel Tasman track. We took a great hike straight from the property, and getting to town was super easy. I will recommend this hotel to anyone going to New Zealand, and I would recommend a stop in Nelson if for nothing else than to stay here and enjoy everything on offer. Thanks so much to Sarah and the team for creating a special memory for all of us.

Our stay at the Pihopa Retreat was amazing! The attention to all the little details really stands out. Sarah, Annie and all the staff were incredibly nice and personable. Loved the nightly happy hour as an opportunity to get to know the staff and other guests. We will be back next time we out in NZ.

The Pihopa Retreat is absolutely charming! It's in a beautiful location, perched on a hill overlooking the water in the distance, surrounded by fruit trees and a kitchen garden. Breakfasts in the chapel were straight from the garden, scrumptious and totally decadent. Evening cocktails and small bites by the pool were lovely, daily fresh baked goodies and fruit in our room was an added luxury, and the staff was so warm and couldn't have been nicer. Our only regret was that it rained most of our visit and it was too cold to swim, but it was a cozy place to stay in inclement weather. Highly recommend this magical spot during any weather!

Can't say enough good things about Sarah and her Pihopa team. The lodge is first class, the personal touches make it special, and the people are welcoming and warm. Nelson and surrounding sites are well - worth the journey. By far among the best we've stayed at in NZ.

Absolutely stunning resort in a beautiful setting with the most luscious flowers and landscaping. Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. Room was beyond comfortable..
