The Sails Nelson

Very kind, Beautiful view, clean and quiet room. I would definitely visit here again. And also breakfast was so delicious.

Well equipped large room and bathroom situated just as you come into Nelson. Friendly staff.Woolworths close by just up room so you can buy food. First thing in morning, there is the traffic noise as on main road but don't let that put you off. can recommend.

Six of us (3 couples) had a delightful three-night stay at Sails as we explored the Nelson area and Abel Tasman. What a great surprise! The apartments are clean, spacious and well-appointed. Managers Cherie and her husband were great fun, caring and personable, with wonderful in-room breakfasts and cappuccino fixings in the room. The location is perfect for downtown restaurants. We've stayed at high-end hotels that don't match the experience of this charming little place. Highly recommended!

We would give this a 5 except for the location, which is on Trafalgar Street, with many rooms right on the street. The hosts were great and the room, bed and pillows were excellent. It’s a short walk into town and there is parking available for your vehicle.

My wife and I have just spent five nights in the Sails Motel in Nelson. Right from the very warm and cheerful welcome which we received on our arrival, we knew that we had made an excellent choice: our allocated room was fresh and airy with the bathroom and kitchen facilities first class. The fact that the motel even offered beach towels for our visits to the nearby Abel Tasman national park spoke volumes - we have stayed in motels in the past but have never before experienced this level of attention to guest detail! In addition, the fact that the motel was located a very short walk away from the town was a very welcome bonus on the evenings when we chose to eat out! All of this said, what really made our stay at the Sails memorable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the husband and wife managerial team of Cherie and Dave. Nothing - and I mean nothing - was too much bother with both always ready to share their extensive local knowledge and make recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed and none of which we would have come across under our own steam. The owners of the Sails are very fortunate indeed to have such a managerial couple: their bonhomie and infectious sense of humour combined with their patience and “can do” attitude undoubtedly contributed to our lovely experience of Nelson and its surrounding area. We had a wonderful spacious unit with a jacuzzi tub. Robes were nice. Very nice kitchen area with coffee and tea. Phone charging was no problem. Staff was very accomodating, especially with our late arrival.

Perfect spot for three day stop in area, from the warm welcome through to the spacious and extremely comfortable bedroom with kitchen facilities and a lovely bathroom. It’s just a short walk into town along a well lit road, and also convenient to quickly access the coastal road. The room was serviced every day, and everything was well designed and thought through. The laundry room was also a welcome feature. Would definitely recommend.
