What a gem this hotel is. We stayed in an absolutely beautiful lakeview room. It was spotless, fabulous and had everything you could want. All of the staff were really lovely, helpful and professional. A rare quality to find these days. The food we had in the evening was just lovely and the breakfast quality and offering was the best we have experienced. We would highly recommend the Lakeside hotel and will definitely return again soon.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding in the Lakeside Hotel last month. From the get go, the hotel staff and our amazing wedding co-ordinator Catherine did everything possible for us to have the most magical day and night! There was no request too large or small. The food was absolutely superb as was the service. The quality of the food was the topic of conversation the days following. If you're looking for a smashing location by the water with a family feel, this is the place for your wedding. We couldn't recommend the hotel enough!

Spent 2 nights here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and bed very comfortable. The food was good and portions big.

Avoid avoid avoid. We went for afternoon tea yesterday and it was nothing short of embarrassing. The sandwich selection was a ham and cheese sandwich, a random thrown together mix of packet chicken, 1 piece of black potato and sundried tomatoes on a crumbly piece of toast and the worst of all, a doorstop wedge of brown bread with just lettuce and tomato. Who wants to eat that? There were no scones even though we were given jam and cream and the rest was shop bought pastries, which were stale. We left hungry and had to go for lunch elsewhere. A major letdown as it was a gift for our engagement. We were also given dirty glasses and there were crumbs all over the ground. There was no atmosphere also. The excuse given was that the chef was new in the kitchen. Just not acceptable for the price. Beyond disappointed.

These guys have weddings down to a fine art. Food was great. Staff service and friendliness could not be faulted. Everyone was a delight. The main building where I was is oldish, with renovations occurring. So if you are concerned about some construction noise be sure to mention when booking. Book direct with the hotel for the best price as they give you a dinner discount voucher as well as best tariffs. Location is tops!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of this visit, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was a comfortable place to stay, the attention to the gardens as well as the guests areas was very good. It is very well positioned to avail of local amenities.
