Older hotel but undergoing remodeling. Good location, wish they had better towels. This hotel does not have daily housekeeping.

We stayed 10 nights over spring break. Room rate was attractive. Hotel was said to be under renovation, but no problem. Small store, no charge laundry works mostly, weekly room cleaning, pretty basic, has exercise room, full fridge, microwave, 2 burner cook top and dishwasher. Kitchen appliances such as slow cookers available. Many nearby extended stay choices are other options, but for price this was okay. I-35 road noise. Mattress needed replacement.

The hotel was in a good location with easy access. The grounds / parking area needed to be picked up and cleaned for liter and debris. Our only complaint about our room was there weren’t enough towel hangers or racks in the bathroom. Thankfully that’s a small item but it would help when you’re attempting to reuse a towel or hand towel.

Easy access to 35, decent sized room. It was not very clean, they didnt have ice, there was a roach in our room. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. I don't think I will be back.

We travel, a lot and have been all over the country. For the brand and type of hotel, I expected better, but this has to be one of the worst kept hotels we have walked into. Our room was disgusting! Stains on sheets, pillows, floor, couch, chairs and dirty walls. There was sticky left over food on the night stand. We asked to see a second room. It was cleaner, but once again, stains all over the sheets, room in need of repair. Someone from corporate needs to come inspect this property. It smells like five people cooked different dinners in the lobby and halls. Its in need of a serious deep clean all over. Run away from this location! We had them cancel our reservation and went and stayed next door at the Country Inn and Suites.

Pet fees are exorbitant. I relied on this information from the Bringfido site: "Candlewood Suites New Braunfels welcomes two pets of any size for an additional fee of $20 per pet for the first night and $15 per pet, per night for each additional night, with a maximum fee of $150 per pet, per stay. Both dogs and cats are accepted." I was charged $75/cat for two cats or $150 in pet fees for a two night stay. When I asked about extending my stay if it became necessary (I'm moving to New Braunfels and don't know exactly when the movers will arrive with my stuff), I was told I'd have to make a new reservation. Hence I concluded I'd have to pony up yet another $150. to keep my cats with me. These fees are exorbitant, there's nothing on candlewood's site laying this out, the information available I relied on was incorrect, and they are not accommodating in any way about this. Thus while I like the room and hotel, I won't be staying on & would advise anybody bringing pets to look elsewhere.
