Goldberry Woods- A Modern Farm Resort

Spent two nights with my husband and 97 year old mother. The accommodations were very comfortable. Mom slept in the king and my husband and I slept in the twin beds in the joining room. My mother was able to use her walker in the bedroom/bathroom. The shower was handicapped accessible too but she didn't use it. We did and it was great. The property is lovely. Nestled in the woods. So fun to see the cool garden and to learn about their market. We enjoyed a camp fire in the fire pit one night. We drove into New Buffalo for two meals. The drive through the beautiful homes was very fun. We ordered the cheese and crackers and local wine the first night and enjoyed it the second night as well. It was nice to have a guest refrigerator we could use. Owners Eric and Julie are very personable, kindly answering all our questions. Carly was also very helpful. We had two delicious gourmet breakfasts. It was too windy to hang out on the beach but we did borrow the beach chairs from their shed just in case. They have a plethora of anything you might need for the beach and the grounds in the shed. They also have bikes. Ferris did a 20 minute chair yoga for the 3 of us in the barn when she found out the age of my mom and that it wasn't easy for her to get up off the floor. Ferris is excellent!!!!! Very relaxing yoga. The property has a relaxed feel to it. We hiked the easy upper trail with my mom. The children will love a very clever scavenger hunt on the property. The gorgeous spring flowers have sprung. I would love to come back to see how the vegetable garden and flower garden are growing. I know it will be beautiful. I would recommend this B&B.

We arrived a little early and were met by Eric who gave us a quick tour. We stayed in the Sassafras room which was very nice! We explored the property and the area which was perfect (I love being outside surrounded by trees). Breakfast by Carly was delicious! We will definitely go back!

Beautiful place nestled in nature. Yummy food, realizing vibes & well kept property to explore. Great amenities - pool, hot tube, ping pong, kayaks, books, games, coffee, tea bar, fire pit, lounging chairs, garden, farm, chickens….Worth the visit!

Goldberry Woods has been an annual trip for us for the past 4 years now. We love the beautiful property and farm to table experience! Julie and Eric are excellent hosts and run things with such exceptional love and care. Whether going for a weekend getaway as a couple, with the family, or a group of friends we would recommend Goldberry to anyone!

We had a girls weekend there the last week of April. There were a total of 18 of us that enjoyed the Inn and barn as well as the entire property. Beds were very comfy, plenty of space, owners are responsive and helpful. Everything from check in to check out was made easy. Great communication and we will definitely be returning for a fall weekend! Thank you.

Goldberry woods is truly a magical place to stay! We had the best time - the rooms are clean and fabulous, and the breakfasts are to die for! Very accommodating for food sensitivities/allergies too! 10/10 experience! The grounds are absolutely beautiful as well we really enjoyed the nature walk along the trails.

This was my husband and mine first time at a B&B and Goldberry Woods did not disappoint. We pre-ordered champagne and charcuterie and it was waiting for us in our room upon arrival. The bubbles were from a local winery and it was delicious! The daily breakfast was very tasty and there are many local restaurants Within 10 minutes drive so you are not lacking any options for lunch or dinner. The accommodations were clean and spacious and the sheets on the bed were 10/10! We explored the grounds and really enjoyed the aviary. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back.

we had a wonderful time here! the owners are so friendly and personable, we loved talking to them and getting recommendations for food/activities in the area♥️ the breakfast youre served each morning is by far the best breakfast ive ever had, and they are sure to accommodate any dietary restrictions (i’m vegetarian and my meal was still AMAZING). the grounds are just breathtaking, our only regret is that our stay is just 3 days! we are definitely looking forward to returning! this place truly feels like a home away from home.

We should have cancelled our reservation after the website confirmed it, and then the owner kept emailing me to tell me I had to switch the dates.He also told me that his website shouldn’t have let me make that reservation! What? It wasn’t my fault the website let me make the reservation. After much stress and much back and forth with the owner, we switched our reservation to suit him. Should have canceled instead. We rented the Rivers Edge cottage. While it is part of the property, it is not in the secluded part where the Inn and the other cottages are. It’s actually close to the road (not an issue) and very close to a private, neighboring house. The neighbors were quite noisy, using loud blowers and chain saws, and they set off VERY loud fireworks many nights, many of which landed on the driveway to our unit. Not Goldberry’s fault, but not a secluded cottage. In addition, the unit is “tired” looking. It could use some TLC both inside and out. It needs paint everywhere at the very least. The major kitchen appliances worked well enough, but the website description led us to believe they were updated, when in fact they were quite old. (The coffee maker provided was so filthy we went out and bought our own). The furnishings were tired and dated as well…we felt like we had stepped into someone’s attic. The bunk room is actually a converted garage, down several steps, and closed off from the rest of the cottage with an exterior door. It has a window AC unit. The steps leading down to the river didn’t look like they could withstand much weight (we are not overweight people, but didn’t want to risk it.) The screens on the screened in porch needed repair, so they weren’t really good at keeping bugs out. The main part of the property was rented out, so the “free snacks” were not available. There were no closets in any of the bedrooms. It wasn’t the worst place we have ever stayed, but for what we paid, we could have stayed somewhere nicer. Just letting you know all of this because the pics on the website don’t show what the cottage is really like. Also, after we left, the owner asked us to contact him if we had anything unfavorable to say, or if we were pleased to go to trip advisor. That’s probably why this is the only “less than stellar” review. It wasn’t what we had hoped it would be. Two positive things I can say is that Carly met us and showed us around and was lovely, and it was nice that we had access to bikes and kayaks (although those could also be rented fairly close by).
