Not the Mountaineer we once new. No poker, no buffet, no comp coffee or soda. Paltry payout on slots and so, No customers. Place used to be amazing. Quit going a couple years ago as we lost our ass every trip. Decided to try it again, bad idea. Great selection of restaurants with different price points and the food is very good. Pool is underwhelming. A nice AI generated response identical to all reviews follows.

Average, older and dank ******. Our shower had a loud heavy stream of water all night long. The drinks should be free so you at least you feel you get something for your money.

So sad, we have gone to this ****** and hotel for years. Stopped going for a while because the owners let it decline. We had high expectations when the new owners came in. We have made two trips there recently, and they have cleaned it up some. But the place was empty, no free night offers and promotions cut. Some of our favorite employees mentioned how empty it’s been. Had dinner there and that was the only nice part of our trip. So rather than travel two hours and pay for a hotel, we will visit our local ******s. Such a shame this ****** use to be packed and so much fun.

The mahogany "sports bar" should be renamed restaurant. We had a party of twelve, but the manager wouldn't allow the staff to combine tables to accommodate us or turn up the volune on the televisions while the football game wss on. Instead we had to listen to pop music. Even the food for the sports bar was brought accross the building on a dirty cart. Don't think that we'll be eating there again.

The only restaurant open, Gatsby restaurant had low quality and expensive food. The bathtub drain plug did not hold water and the phone in the room was unable to connect with the front desk. I also found out upon arrival that ******* charges $60 per day more than if you book the hotel directly

We booked months ahead but when we arrived we were put in the old part of hotel instead of new part and we were not happy about that. The hotel was not packed at all which is why we should have been placed in the nicer newer part of hotel. Also, the hotel smelled so badly of smoke, we were congested and coughing all night. We are non-smokers and we smelled of smoke horribly.

Unhelpful and rude security staff Ted needs to be removed from his position. I couldn’t hear what ted said so i asked him to repeat it and he got rude. Then when i told ted’s boss he said that i must of had an attitude with him first. The hotel is nice get service ted and his crony squad need fired.
