Deco are very shabby, hygiene is a disaster specially you can see dirts on bedsheet and blankets, don’t even mention other facilities.
Bear in mind that you are spending a 5 star hotel room rate but live in a guesthouse standard “hotel”. 🙄

My stay at The Ashok has been extremely disappointing, and the most alarming issue was a major safety breach. Housekeeping left my room door open for the entire day after cleaning. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming five-star status. Knowing that my personal belongings and documents were exposed for hours, with anyone potentially able to walk in, left me feeling unsafe and genuinely concerned. The only response I received was a simple “sorry,” with no accountability or reassurance. The room itself was also far below standard. Everything felt outdated and poorly maintained—cracks, stains, rusted bathroom fixtures, chipped mugs, and worn-out towels with threads coming off. The safe provided looked extremely old, and I didn’t feel confident using it to store important items. Overall, the condition of the room and facilities made the property feel neglected and insecure. Service was also lacking. Reception was not particularly helpful, and communication felt difficult even for simple requests. Key cards frequently stopped working, which added to the frustration. Between the poor room conditions and the serious lapse in security, I cannot recommend The Ashok. For the price they charge, guests should feel safe and properly cared for—unfortunately, that was not the case here.

this is one hotel in delhi that has a mix of technology and charm of old india. it stands proud in the diplomatic enclave area where it houses dignitaries, VIPs & gov't officials from all over the world. breakfast was something i didn't look forward to during my 2-night stay. spices in the morning don't sit quite well in my digestive tract. service was nothing special. even my toiletries didn't have a vanity kit in my daily supply. they were generous with bottled water, though. if given the chance, i would still stay in this hotel provided it was free.

Absolutely pathetic experience at Hotel Ashok. The room was in horrible condition – the AC was leaking water directly over my bed, and despite repeated complaints, no proper action was taken. I have photographs that clearly show the negligence. The service was unprofessional and careless, with zero sense of hospitality. The entire property is falling apart – from the interiors to the basic amenities – everything is outdated, poorly maintained, and in desperate need of complete restoration. For a hotel that claims to be premium, it is nothing short of a disgrace. Would not recommend this place to anyone.Also water bottle is charged heavily after two small complimentary bottles
