Cruachan House

Had the pleasure of staying for a few nights with my wife, this place is beautiful and a wonderful delightful get away from it all. Nicely decorated, spacious rooms and comfortable bed with incredible views and gardens to rest in. Breakfast was lovely and made to order with a lovely selection on the menu. It’s in a great location for visiting the area and if we had known how good it was we would have stayed longer rather than moving around. Hazel is a great host who is knowledgable of all things local and her kind and warm manner really makes you feel at home. We most definitely would stay here again in this home from home rather than a hotel. Justin & Elizabeth

Cruachan house was our last stop on our holiday and it really made us not want to go back home. Even though this place is not expensive at all we were not just given a room, but a huge bathroom next to the room. Basically it was more an appar**ent than a room. We enjoyed the bath with the complementary wine, and spend a relaxing evening in the beatiful garden. Our host Hazel was great. We highly recommend letting her plan your day for you. You will tell her what you like to do at the great breakfast, and she will come up with some great ideas. We followed many of her suggestions and had some wonderful days as a result. The area around New Galloway is great. Though we also really enjoyed the highlands, where we were among many tourists doing the same, the south part of Scotland will always have a soft spot in our hearts. It feels like the forgotten part of the country, and it really deserves more attention than it gets. And if you go there, we highly recommend Cruachan house as your place to stay.

The welcome was very warm. The hostess withe mostest! The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. We slept very well. There was a great selection for breakfast. It was all served in a nice dining room. Altogether a very happy experience. Love Dumfries and Galloway

Wonderful quality b and b Spacious immaculate bedroom and bathroom. Lovely property,gardens and location for exploring this very rural part of Scotland. Booking ahead for evening meal is advisable if you want to eat in the nearby area as currently limited availability of local eating places. We hope we can visit again.

Our second time here. Arriving was like visiting friends we had known for years. Hazel is so helpful and cheerful. Room 2 is lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Wifi is good. Breakfast is superb! Thanks you for another lovely stay. We hope to be back soon. 12/10!

We had a beautifully appointed room with huge bathroom in this lovely Arts & Crafts-style house with very convenient access to the Galloway forest trails. Lovely guest lounge and garden (former croquet lawn) with views down the valley. Hazel does an excellent Scottish breakfast for those wanting to fill up before going out walking / cycling. Some excellent on and off-road bike trails in the area, made even better by three days of perfect June weather. Highly recommended.
