Went down for Memorial Weekend with my wife and son. The Alder is right in the middle of a neighborhood, great access to Freret Street, Loyola and Tulane. Free parking in a huge lot across the street, which is a huge plus. The outside could use a coat of paint, but the inside was great. Clean, appointed with all the normal stuff of a 'travel' hotel. Great hot coffee every morning. No breakfast at all, but who needs a hotel breakfast when Bearcat Cafe is a block away. I appreciated the mini fridge, second sink, microwave and real plates and silverware in the drawer. Nice outdoor area with a nice sized pool. It's next door to Oschner Baptist Hospital, which gives the courtyard and pool a little industrial look because the hospital and parking deck kindof loom over the outdoor area. I feel like they could do some more with that area, but that's a very small thing. Staff was amazing. Overall, very very satisfied. Will definitely be back.
