I struggled to be satisfied with my rating for the hotel's equal parts of positives and negatives. So, I'll preface by saying that I recommend this spot only if you are willing to tolerate certain oversights. I reserved a four-night stay in January 2026 to celebrate my birthday. On the Marriot Bonvoy app, the hotel confirmed this special occasion and messaged me saying I'd be gifted with wine upon arrival. I did not receive wine at any point during my visit. I do not know why they'd offer to give me a gift, but not follow through. Right before bed on my arrival day, I noticed the sheets in my room were stained with brown marks; I knew this couldn't have come from me given that I left the room almost immediately after setting down my luggage to explore the city. Since it was super late into the night, I didn't bother to request the sheets to be replaced until the following day. I requested through the app that I wanted a deep clean of the room--including replacing the bedsheets, before I went off on my excursions. I was gone for well over six hours, and when I came back, everything was exactly as I had left it. Untouched. Unclean. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Their hotel did state that they clean every OTHER day, and the stains weren't necessarily vile to look at. Yet, I waited until the evening of my final day in New Orleans when I finally accepted that they were not going to clean my room one bit. I really don't get too hung up over small things like tiny stains, and I realize now that I should have spoken to the front desk for assistance if I was adamant on room service. However, in my defense, the app is intended for face-to-face conversations to be decreased through their message board. I specified exactly what I wanted and how long I'd be away for them to work on the issue, and not only did they say they would get to it, but they replied again hours later to apologize for a delay and reconfirm their priority over the matter. To have a hotel explicitly read and respond to a message and still not get around to achieving the task they assured a guest they would do, that's a recipe for a very disappointed customer. Fortunately, I did not choose to stay here just to lie in their room all day. I wanted to reside in a place that was close enough to the iconic Bourbon Street without being directly in the middle of the fun. Courtyard was perfect for this, I had just enough space to not be bombarded with partygoers or blasting music, with nearby cafés and souvenir shops to entertain me before sundown, when the party really gets started! The staff was generally kind; I can't say they were disrespectful in any way, but I really only spoke to them when I was checking in and out, so that's not a lot to go off of. Even so, they came off polite and that includes the barista who worked across from them at their indoor café. There's ample room on the ground floor to wait for your ride to pick you up, accessible ramps for those with disabili

Everything changes—and not always for the better. Sadly, my longtime go-to spot in New Orleans has started to slip. I reserved well in advance and even called to double-check that I’d be getting a room with a roll-in shower. On arrival, things initially looked promising: a big automatic entrance door and a wheelchair ramp. But that’s where the problems began. At the top of the ramp, carts and stands were blocking the path, making it difficult to maneuver independently. I was placed in Room 111—the same room I stayed in six months ago. Unfortunately, the light and wall outlets on the right side of the bed didn’t work. That’s not a small issue when it’s the only place in the room where I can charge my wheelchair. The turning radius in relation to the light swi he's and outlets is inadequate and a major challenge. Maintenance came, attempted a fix, and said they’d return. They never did. Five days later, I checked out, left the state, and the problem was still unresolved. The shower itself was technically roll-in, but the hanging shower rod didn’t work, and the soap and shampoo dispensers were mounted far too high to be reachable from a wheelchair. These are basic accessibility details that matter—especially for full-time wheelchair users. I’m genuinely disappointed. I’ve stayed here at least four times before and never experienced this many issues. It’s still a great option in terms of price and location, but at this point, it’s not truly accessible or reliable for wheelchair guests. I was also surprised to find that nearly the entire staff appears to be new. Everyone was pleasant, but many lacked basic knowledge of the area—something you’d expect in a major tourist destination. I hope this place gets back to the standard it once held, because it used to be a solid, dependable choice. Right now, though, it falls short.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard in the French Quarter, and unfortunately, my experience was not up to the standards I typically associate with Marriott properties. Here are the key issues I encountered: 1. Check-In Experience Upon arrival, the check-in attendant seemed distracted and unresponsive to our needs. We had questions about upgrading our room, but the attendant provided minimal assistance. Instead of exploring options to accommodate our request, he simply reiterated the type of room we had originally booked. This lack of engagement made us feel undervalued as guests. 2. Breakfast Service As a courtesy, the hotel offers breakfast to its guests. However, when we went to the breakfast area, we were informed that we did not pay for it, and it was an additional charge. While I understand that policies can vary, I have never encountered this situation at other Marriott properties. Additionally, the breakfast area featured Starbucks branding, but when I attempted to use my Starbucks gift card, I was told that it could not be accepted because the coffee served was not from Starbucks. This was confusing, especially since the branding implied a partnership with Starbucks. It raises the question of why the hotel is promoting Starbucks products without using their actual coffee or allowing the use of their gift cards. Conclusion Overall, the lack of attentiveness from the staff and the inconsistencies in service left a negative impression during my stay. I believe that clear communication and proper training could significantly enhance the guest experience at this location. I hope my feedback can contribute to improvements in service quality.

I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard at 124 St Charles Avenue New Orleans from March 5th to 9th, 2026. I used the valet service provided by the hotel and was told it would take approximately 15 minutes to get my vehicle. Over 75% of the time I requested my vehicle, it took 30 minutes to an hour to obtain my vehicle (and one time it was never delivered). This caused me to miss picking people up at the airport, dinners, planned events, etc.

I stayed here with my partner for 4 days 3 nights during Mardi Gras. We booked a balcony room overlooking St Charles Avenue to watch the parades, and while expensive, IMO there is no better way to enjoy the Mardi Gras season. It’s close enough to the street-level to catch beads thrown by floats, and just high enough to avoid having to elbow your way through the crowds and chaos. Sitting on the private cast iron balcony with my partner was the most romantic experience, and when we were done we could just go back to our room or relax down at the hotel bar, which also had street-level views. Watching the massive crowds downstairs separated by just a pane of glass, we were so glad to be safe and comfortable inside! Natalie Trosclair the hotel manager was amazingly helpful and communicative with us from the moment we booked months in advance, and all throughout her stay. She went above and beyond, when I emailed her in advance to ask if we could have a very specific but relatively inexpensive bottle of sparkling white wine waiting for us in the room, she said she would do her best but couldn’t promise as it’s a small hotel with a limited wine list. Instead she delivered a bottle of actual champagne without any excess charge. Zero complaints about the upgrade, thank you Natalie! I regret that I don’t remember the name of the bartender, a tanned balding fellow with dark eyebrows, but he was so friendly and accommodating, service was immaculate and we were so impressed considering how busy he was, seemingly there around the clock! Overall we have nothing but good things to say about all the staff, from reception to housekeeping. Some minor negatives: 1. If you are sensitive to noise, as other commenters have noted this is not the room for you. We read these reviews and decided to book anyway, because we cared more about the view and prime location. Noise is the tradeoff for the balcony. 2. Food wise, we wished there were more appealing vegan options. If you’re here during Mardi Gras day and even a couple days before/after, it can be very hard to find restaurants that are open, accepting bookings, let alone transportation or a route through closed off streets. So if you have special dietary requirements, you must plan in advance, know that food options will be very limited and at certain times of day you can barely even exit the hotel to get through the crowds. 3. The balcony rooms overlooking St Charles Avenue (parade route) are available only with 2 queen beds. For us the beds were a little small, we would’ve liked the option of a single King bed, but those rooms don’t have balconies. The hotel should consider IMO some more flexibility on that front. Other than all that, a huge thank you to Natalie and her team for a magical Mardi Gras experience!

The service is horrible, they serve in a bad way and get annoyed when you are telling them about a problem with the room!

The room was fine but the bath tub seemed to drain extremely slow while trying to shower. The water would rise up to your ankles. Maintenance was notified but did not resolve the issue.

Would not recommend this hotel. Courtyard is usually my go-to but this was awful, rooms smelled bad, tour rebooked us. Customer service was poor. Tried 3 rooms and all were bad and TINY. Windows look into hotel interior. Needs a gut renovation. Location is good but that’s it!

The first floor looked amazing, but that was a facade. When I got out of the elevator on my floor I was overwhelmed by a musty odor, and I also noticed the carpet had been ripped up. Later I decided to go for a swim, and the pool was filthy. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Then I called the front desk to ask for towels and got them a day later.
