The only good thing about the hotel is location. Rest everything sucks big time. There was no Hot Water for the shower in the rooms, had to shower with ice cold water and eventually caught cold. The Carpet smelled so bad and the corridor floors were dirty. Guest Services staff was super rude and cleaning staff kept knocking on the door even if Do no disturb sign was on. No Sound proofing, Super noisy when neighbouring doors are opened / closed. No Late checkout provided, no water in rooms. Far from 4 star hotel, more like a motel.

Great place to stay! Right on Bourbon and Canal Streets! Only downside was trying to drop off luggage and valet the car off of Canal can be tricky.

We booked this trip for a birthday treat. We thought the room was spacious, clean & had a massive TV. We had a bath & shower & a king sized bed. It’s next to Bourbon Street so loud music but earplugs are supplied. Reception staff are extremely helpful & provide recommended restaurants & places that deliver food to the hotel We didn’t use the gym or pool but would highly recommend this hotel for location. 5 mins from the Mississippi River

To check into the room was a breeze. The customer service rep was excellent at his job and even helped me get information about a tour I had booked. The room itself was shabby or well worn looking and smelled. Maid service was good in that the bed was made everyday, but the bed itself was lumpy. There were rust stains in the bathtub. To step outside to smoke a cigarette, one is bombarded with homeless people asking for money or cigarettes. Seems more could have been done to safeguard guests standing in front of the hotel waiting for something or just getting a breath of fresh air from such harassment. I then found out there was a balcony on the 2nd floor where guests could go to smoke their cigarette. The view from the balcony is excellent as it looks right down on Burbon Street, what a treat. Spending days exploring the city and later going to the balcony in the evenings became a routine for me. That is until one night leaving the balcony heading toward the elevator I ran up upon a woman who was stooped down peeing on the floor by the wall that has a picture of a lady with a piece of paper over her eyes. There were bathrooms on the second floor, so I couldn't understand why she would do that. I guess that speaks to the type of person she is. I was appalled. If that is a representation of the type of people who book rooms at the Astor, then that hotel is not the hotel for me! No, I will never stay there again

The location is great, but the service wasn’t and the room was only ok, there was a broken lamp and no shampoo in the shampoo holder.

Clean well appointed room, great location, good value but most valuable asset is employees! Everyone was most patient and understanding and helpful! Upon arrival, the safe in our room had broken lock,,one call and service there in minutes .. could not repair.. so he suggested we request to be moved and we did and he brought us new keys and helped us move down the hall!! During our stay we received texts asking how about our stay and offers of service.. then on checkout! Very pleasant and easy.. bellman offered to call taxi and take bags before we could ask.. but got to airport missing garment bag.. but called and got Brian in security who said “No worries” just go to UPS when you get home and email a shipping label .. which I did!!.. and then Brian boxed it up and called to let me know he had dropped it off at UPS and it was in transit!! Disaster avoided thanks to Brian Goins!!!

We had a room facing Canal street, super noisy. Also two of the nights the hotel was rented out to a few fraternities, they were super loud and disruptive. The location is great, staff was super nice.
