The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

My fiancé and I stayed at The Ritz for a long weekend getaway and we have nothing but great things to say about the hotel! The hotel is clean, has a convenient location, and super friendly staff! Housekeeping was always so kind to provide us with additional, complimentary water bottles and chocolates in the evening. The hotel is in a great location. You’re close to all of the main attractions, but far enough away from all of the noise. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. We had an early flight to New Orleans and the front desk was kind enough to give us an early check in to our room! We highly recommend the Ritz and would definitely stay here again!

Dangerous location, very dangerous. 3 people shot at 2 PM this past Friday. Doors aren't locked from street. Anyone can get in. Called to have the phone not picked up 5 times. Finally got someone to respond - harassed and berated me about my name/ room number and experience. Rooms are nice, Service is the worst that I have seen. No luggage valet, carry your own bag, no fine tuning. Loud kids everywhere and Management lackluster. Spoke with GM - Jim Fein. Got lip service and we will look into this. Neighborhood reason not to go, and Management of the property is the 2nd reason. Sad to spend this amount of money to get this type of experience.

He was very loud, but that’s normal in New Orleans. We really have a lot of fun at the hotel is beautiful my kids they love the hotel.

love the Davenport Lounge and the restaurant, without this, the stay would have been not good. The area is shady & noisy. But also, the property itself can use a facelift. It just seems like a Mariott, not a Ritz property. Very 3 star.

Arriving at the main entrance, I took an elevator to the 3rd floor reception desk. I then had to take another elevator to the 4th floor and walk roughly 50 yards to the entrance to the club, where I had to take yet another elevator to my room. This was clearly not thought out very well. The club itself was limited in food options and staffed by very friendly, albeit virtually uninformed personnel. The room featured an empty mini-bar, which despite asking 3 times, was never stocked. Housekeeping seemed to forget about me 2 of the 6 days I was there, despite me calling to ask to have my room cleaned... Room service was subpar with dry eggs, stale toast and mixed up orders. The same was true of the restaurant where the cassoulet was terribly dry, bordering on inedible. This is unacceptable in a city famous for its French food! While the staff throughout was very friendly, it seems they suffer from a lack of training and information. A notable unfriendly incident involved a belligerent and condescending security guard working the main entrance. I was trying to find the rear entrance to avoid having to change elevators twice, but instead of offering assistance, he charged out of his unmarked car and barked at me to leave the property. After I showed him my room key, he barked again and told me I wasn't listening to him. I tried to report the incident at the reception desk but found the desk abandoned. I called from my room and never heard about the incident again.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with top notch staff and good location. The feeling within the hotel is very serene, which can be a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of Bourbon and Royal Streets. We thoroughly enjoyed staying on the Club floor, which was beautiful and recently renovated earlier this year. The furnishings were gorgeous, and I appreciated that there were several different areas within the Club lounge, from a quaint library to a more casual room with a TV. The food offerings and the staff on the Club floor were phenomenal (special appreciation for Lilian, Natalia, Rachelle, and Russell). We also enjoyed the jazz band in the bar/restaurant Saturday night.

The hotel was very nice and clean. This was our first time staying here and we will definitely be staying here again. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.
