Property needs an update bathroom was so small I could barely turn around smelled musty and there was mold on shower

staff was wonderful
However...first night the fan for the heater/ac would not go off...finally call front desk at 4am and they told me they had to turn it off on their end and that i could not turn it off in the room,,,second day fan was off all day and then went on again...then I was told they could not turn it off on their end and we needed to change rooms...first they were taking us from 512 to 412 and similar problem so then we went to room 444 and no problem..finally got to bed close to midnight....The next major problem was the day before we were leaving we went back to the room late afternoon to take a shower befor going to dinner and there was not hot water....Engineers were working on problem.....our flight the next morning was at 6:45 am so arranged for a 5am pick up which meant we needed to be up by 4-4-15am
did not get to take showers until after 8pm. very frustratin
I think the hotel shoud give us a credit off the room for these major incidents.

I have been staying at the Omni Royal Orleans for 15 years. I love the ambiance of hotel, its location in the centre of the French Quarter is perfect. I find it relaxing and always enjoy the Rib Room restaurant and the bar. All the staff were welcoming - a special mention to Allen Quesada, the Rib Room's Maitre d', who stopped by for a chat several times. I've already booked my next stay!

The Omni Royal Orleans is still the quintessential New Orleans Hotel! It is in the very best French Quarter location. Every type of staff member is outstanding and can recall your name! The in-house restaurant ( The Rib Room ) , touted as excellent by locals, is quite in line with the reputation of traditional upscale New Orleans restaurants! The Select Guest Program is just what the name implies!,!

The location couldn't be better! They take care of you coming in and leaving with taxis waiting for the doorman to call them over. Not that you'll need them anyway being able to walk easily to everything you want to do in the French quarter.
