Element New York Times Square West

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The location is good, but it’s not worth the money. The service isn’t great, and the rooms aren’t cleaned properly. There’s also a strong smell of mold. You can hear a lot of noise from outside, which is somewhat expected in New York, but overall the experience just wasn’t worth the price. Breakfast is not great but It’s okey.

Excellent location 5 minutes walked to time square. Subway station and restaurants everywhere. Booked a room, including 2 people breakfast. BKT was convenient and okay. If you drive, make sure to park your car across the hotel that parking lot. Pay the hotel directly when you checked out to get a better price. Overall, it was a very good stay.

Heavy traffic with many guests. Elevators take a beating. Sometimes a wait. Typically better than other hotels. Breakfast is a nice offering with enough choices. The workers for breakfast need a tip or better pay. I think they do a great job and deserve more. Front desk is extra friendly/helpful and security guards are quite pleasant. I have stayed here before and will likely be back again. This was my third stay (about 3 nights each). Neighborhood outside is a little rough for those not familiar with NYC.

Overall, Element Times Square West was a very good base for my 16‑night business stay, and I would return if the rate is right next March or April. The location is excellent – an easy walk to Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and major subway lines, which made getting to meetings and sightseeing very convenient. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, and maintenance responded quickly when I reported an issue with the shower faucet, resolving it within a day. The room was comfortable, especially the bed, and overall cleanliness was good, though housekeeping only comes every other day, which seems to be their standard practice to reduce housekeeping frequency. This schedule was a bit surprising at first but manageable once I got used to it. Breakfast was included and okay, but the selection was basically the same every day, so it became repetitive after the first few mornings and I ended up going out for breakfast from about day three onward. For a longer stay, more variety would make a big difference. In summary, this hotel works very well if you prioritize a convenient Midtown location and a comfortable room over daily housekeeping and a varied breakfast, and I would be happy to stay again on a future trip if they offer a good rate.
