The Empire Hotel New York

Absolutely wonderful and beautiful hotel. The shower was next level. The water pressure and temperature was insane for tenth floor. The roof top pool , and amenities were once in a life time.

The location of the hotel right near the Lincoln Center and Central Park is great. The room is comfortable and the staff are helpful.

The location is absolutely unbeatable—being just steps from Central Park, Lincoln Center, and the subway made exploring the city so easy. We also loved the atmosphere. The rooftop bar is a gem with a great vibe and beautiful view, good drinks, offering a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing . Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you are tall, it’s better to book a room with a king bed. The hotel’s design is great! There are many restaurants nearby and a Starbucks right downstairs As a fun bonus for TV fans—the hotel is famous for being featured in Gossip Girl (as Chuck Bass's hotel) and the new Dexter: Resurrection series . It was exciting to stay in such an iconic spot!

The Empire hotel has a nice lobby and must have been really nice when it was newly renovated. My room was nice but the furniture, wallpaper was very run down. The bathroom has been roughly repaired several times too and everything is leaking or spraying if you ask for too much water pressure. The nice staff is doing what they can with what they have. I have never heard that many disgruntled customers at the counter. I told them the letter H of their famous red neon logo on the roof top is no longer lit and they told me they had no idea who to call to have it fixed. I guess a stay with them is « a » typical New York experience but not necessarily in a good way.

I had a great stay here. Check in was simple and the staff were nice. The room was nice for what I paid, although lighting not great with only the bathroom lighting and mirror being sufficient to apply make up! Bathroom was small and pokey, having to close the door to access the make up mirror was annoying as no sideboard to store makeup so had to keep going in and out. Room was noisy as could hear neighbours talking, and lots of street noise. Ear plugs helped. Shower tray turned into a paddling pool but reported this and it was fixed. Cleaning staff were very nice and insisted on making up the rooms if they saw me in the hall. Overall, the staff I spoke to during my stay were very good, check in/out process was simple - M was very polite and explained the process, room decor could do with a refresh but wasn’t terrible, main areas look just how they look on Gossip Girl! I was able to leave my case for two hours after check out, this was very helpful. Location was great, one block from Central Park and plenty of supermarkets and food places nearby (love Morton Williams!) and perfect being just opposite the Lincoln centre too, although did not attend any shows here but also looks the same as it looks on Etoile! Overall, a satisfying stay in a great location. I will definitely consider staying here again.

The room was extremely dirty, there were cum stains all over the walls. The wallpaper was peeling off everywhere the beds were extremely hard and cheap. The a/c kept making so much noise that I wasn’t able to get any good sleep. We had no view out the window from the two corner rooms we got with both reservations. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the room because of how ugly both rooms were I think they were 306 and 1006. I will never be staying in this hotel ever again. The pillows were also so flat my neck hurt the whole time I was there. The towels were also dirty causing me to get a really bad rash on my ankles etc. extremely terrible service. For a hotel that rips people off by charging a daily fee this hotel does not live up to the standard of cleanliness and should not charge a fee if they’re not updating their rooms etc. the only picture I have of the room you can definitely see huge stains on the walls and you can see how dirty the floor is and how old the bed looks

Was great until we were denied access to toilets so 0/5 stars. Genuinely great stay and good staff, shout out to George. But after we went to pick up our bags that we left in storage, I asked to use the bathroom and they said it's for "guests only". Having just taken the bags from storage I felt it was a pretty disgusting way to be treated having paid for 2 nights... but I guess once you check out you're no longer a guest so GET OUT! Doorman apologised but damn it seriously ruined my trip.
