"Important: Bring your own padlock and slippers. Facilities: The building seems a bit old, but it has everything you need. There's an elevator (the buttons are quite retro 🔘). The common areas and kitchen are very spacious, with all sorts of cooking utensils. There's a hot water kettle for hot drinks, instant soup, or instant noodles. Each bed has its own curtain, a small night light, and a shelf, offering a good degree of personal space. That's a plus. Cleanliness: Relatively good. Environment: I arrived at night so I didn't see the outside courtyard, but the interior is very spacious and well-zoned. It seems like there are many activities during the day, and the rooms aren't cold at all. Service: The front desk staff were friendly."

New York Marriott Marquis Hotels in New York

New York Marriott Marquis

"This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and the only one I've given a bad review to. Avoid it at all costs. 1. On the first night, due to a flight delay, we arrived at 1:30 AM. After checking in, we found the sofa bed wasn't made. We called housekeeping and waited for almost half an hour (after calling again to follow up) before a slow-moving, sleepy older woman finally arrived. The bed was made very shoddily. It's unbelievable, especially since we had already informed the hotel in advance via a message that our flight would arrive late, likely between 1-2 AM, and yet the sofa bed still needed to be made after we checked in. What's the point of their message system if they don't prepare? 2. The hygiene was a complete disaster. The fixtures, towels, and sheets were all unclean, and we even found live cockroaches in the room. 3. The mini-bar's tea bags, cups, and bottled water were never restocked. I finally reached my breaking point and reported these issues to Trip.com. The hotel's response was to tell us to speak to the hotel manager. So, we went downstairs to the front desk where we had checked in and spoke to a lady, explaining the cockroach situation. Her reply was that she couldn't tell us where the cockroaches came from! This kind of buck-passing response in a foreign country was a first for me! As for the other issues, we were told to wait in our room for the housekeeping manager. However, all we got was a phone call from the manager, offering some verbal apologies and saying she would make a note of it. Yet, for the next three days, the supplies were still not restocked, and the towels remained grayish and stained. Photos five and six show the housekeeping cart, clearly stocked with tea bags, bottled water, and cups... so why weren't they provided to us? We tipped every day for eight days, and even complaining didn't help. Is it a problem with the staff's attitude or just chaotic management?"

"I stayed at the Trump Hotel last year, so I'm a regular customer. But why is this hotel charging my credit card so randomly this year? I don't drink alcohol at all, and I never touched the wine in the mini-bar, yet the hotel charged me $160. I tried to reply to the email, but the system said the hotel's email address didn't exist. I didn't carry any cash and even asked the front desk to exchange $50 for tips for the doorman and housekeeping, so I had no reason to hide any charges. This hotel management is extremely disappointing. I've stayed in so many five-star hotels in China, and I've never encountered anything like this. I will never stay at this hotel again."

Hotel Indigo LOWER EAST SIDE NEW YORK by IHG

"The description stated that we would have bathrobes and other amenities, but there were none in the room. However, the worst part was the noise: on the 4th floor you could hear the street noise, and on the 6th the whole room was shaking because of the purple. If you’re a very light sleeper, I don’t recommend it. The staff were very friendly at all times."

"Almost perfect! The public areas and facilities are great (except for one restroom where the hot water wasn't working). The room is small but functional, and there are several subway lines nearby, plus some nice coffee shops in the vicinity."

"We wanted to stay somewhere in Times Square that was easy to get to and close to a lot of the things we wanted to do. This hotel is in the heart of Times Square and was exactly what we were looking for. The room was ok for what we needed, since we obviously didn’t spend much time in the room itself. However, the only furniture in our room was the bed and a chair. We had no where to put our luggage and there was a very small closet that only fit my husbands clothes, I had to put mine on the windowsill. I couldn’t leave my suitcase laid open because there was no room. Overall it is what it is for a New York hotel room."

"The room amenities were decent, but the air conditioning was incredibly noisy. It was either too cold or just way too loud. On the plus side, the pizza place across the street was really tasty and good value for money. Overall, it was an okay stay."

"It is in a good location and all the staff are friendly. If you think that a hotel is something where you can see everything for the price, it is a very satisfying place. There was a toilet in the double room and the bathroom was shared, but it was a place where one person locked it and used it, so it was not very inconvenient."
