Our first trip to the area and The Compass Rose Inn was a delight! Centrally located to shops and dining. Room was clean, warm, and cozy. Enjoyed relaxing in our suite in front of the fireplace after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Kim was an outstanding host during our stay. We highly recommend the Compass Rose Inn.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Compass Rose Inn! The room was really nice, very comfortable bed, really clean. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning, and communicating with the innkeepers about checkin, parking, etc was really easy.. Everything was perfect!

We’ve stayed at the Compass Rose eight times and it is always a pleasure staying there. It is a nice close stroll to the shops and restaurants downtown . Kim the Inn keeper greeted us with a smile and was very kind our whole time there, we will be back.

The Inn was perfect. It is conveniently located near the center of town and within walking distance to everything. Clean, well-appointed and classy. Our suite (#1) was perfect and well furnished. The Inn Keeper, Kim was warm and welcoming... just like the Inn. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10. We cannot wait until our next stay.

This is an excellent Inn, really more like a small all suite hotel. Rooms are large and lovely, breakfast a cut above normal, and the Innkeeper Kim very friendly. Well located and convenient to many restaurants and shops. Newburyport is a well preserved historical town well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful last minute birthday getaway at the Compass Rose Inn! Our room #3 on the second floor was spacious and lovely, fireplace was a joy, king bed was very comfy, large bathroom and XL shower! Lots of windows, very bright and cheerful. Refrigerator, wine glasses and plentiful cocktail ice appreciated. The Innkeeper, Kim, couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming. She gave us very descriptive info on food, ambiance and service at neighborhood restaurants making it easy to make good choices among the large variety close to the inn. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented and Kim was very patient with us all as we stayed in the dining room long past appropriate having a lovely chat with another couple we met while there. Highly recommend a stay at this beautiful inn and we hope to return again soon!

The atmosphere at the Compass Rose is fantastic, the innkeeper is wonderful and friendly, and the location couldn't be better! Right in the middle of downtown Newburyport, with very comfy beds and wonderful spots to relax, read, and take in the view, this was a wonderful place to escape to after our wedding.

Such a lovely inn, right in the middle of downtown. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Kim, the innkeeper, was so pleasant and made us delicious breakfasts both mornings we were there. She also clued us onto the 4th floor cupola and we spend the first evening watching the sun set while having some wine! Room was large and beds were very comfortable. We were in the "annex" - upstairs right next door to the main entrance. The living room in the inn itself was cozy with comfortable sofa and chairs and a roaring fire. Parking right out front and in the rear.
