Beautiful place in a beautiful area. The setting is picturesque. The rooms are lovely and it has a quaint feel with updated touches. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The food there is gorgeous. The spa is also very good and definitely worth a visit. There was only one downside and that was the internet connection but not really a problem for one night, could be seen as a blessing!

Once again a very good friend and myself have had another visit to the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel and Spa. We sat in the bar area overlooking the beautiful gardens, watching the swallows flying around, and we could see their nests. We’ve had, scones with butter and a choice of preserves. A latte each to start, and then tea for two with extra hot water. Again, the venue is so beautiful, very olde worldly with amazing character. Well worth a visit just for that. All the staff again are great, so polite, welcoming, and nothing any trouble. Mel and Lindsey on reception couldn’t be more helpful, and Lindsey kindly gave us a tour of all the dining options. We’ve decided where to sit for Sunday lunch. Making our way to the Spa area, we couldn’t believe how amazing it is!! Everything is so well thought of, and definitely all inside is of very top quality. Tegan kindly gave us a guided tour, explaining everything there is to offer for a well deserved relaxing, or to pamper one’s self. Again, there is so much on offer, I suggest calling to find out. A BIG thank you to everyone concerned for another very enjoyable visit. Possibly another visit next week 🤞 Highly recommend, don’t just take my word call yourself 👏

Superb country house hotel? Hmmm. Not really. It's a gamble - and if things go wrong - it's a nigh**are. Shouldn't a self-proclaimed top luxury hotel be a guaranteed joy? LAST autumn, after a bad experience at the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, I was invited to come back in the spring for a night, at the hotel's expense. Spring is here – and so, before booking, I asked if the offer will be honoured – and I’ve asked, and I’ve asked – but I get no reply. I email and leave phone messages for the manager, but get no response. There is something wrong in the fundamental ethos of customer care which should worry any potential guest who, let's face it, knows there may be a problem that needs fixing. It MAY also explain a rather high turnover of managers (and perhaps reflects on the owner?) Here is MY story. Following my BAD experience last year, the then-manager, Simon, acknowledged that the hotel had gone through a difficult patch and had much work to do, and wrote: "With that in mind, I would like you to give me the opportunity to get the venue back on track and I would love you to return for a complimentary visit next year. If you would like to take me up on this offer, please feel free to contact me directly on this email address and I will personally ensure this gets booked in for you. Kindest Regards Simon" I responded IMMEDIATELY, thanking Simon and saying I would be delighted to accept the offer as I had been hoping to become a regular guest. 9 months and one (two? three?) managers later, and I wanted to check the offer would be honoured before I booked. I have been trying to communicate with the current manager Lynsey - who simply refuses to respond. So, I can only assume that the offer has been withdrawn - but without even offering any explanation. WHAT IS GOING ON? What kind of hotel ignores any customer, let alone one who, despite a very bad experience, is still keen to become a regular client? Or is the hotel even more chaotic than last year, and to be avoided at all costs? I think the sad truth is that Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, which should be such a treasured gem, remains a big gamble for potential guests. You might get excellent service or terrible service; your complaints might be addressed or not; your room might have clean and functioning fittings or it may not. And if you DO have any problems, you may get help from the manager or, as in my case it seems, you may simply be ignored beyond the point of rudeness. There are many superb hotels around Yorkshire who put customer care above everything else. This is not one of them - so choose another one.

We visited the Courtyard Restaurant today to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and were not disappointed . Our waitress Maisie was attentive without being obtrusive and was very welcoming. The food prepared by Chef Josh was amazing . The belly pork starter was so delicious that my self-confessed rhubarb hating husband stole some of mine then said he’d order it next time. The lamb was soft and succulent and everything on the plate was packed with flavour. The risotto was a generous portion elevated by the addition of smoked chicken. Desserts had to be eaten and were well worth the effort. We will definitely be going back.

The website portrays a 1st class appearance but unfortunately very different on arrival …hotel looking very tired and in desperate need of some updating and modernising in areas …on saying this the twin room was clean warm and of good size …the bathroom was lovely and warm with fluffy large white towels the spa was lovely …large steam room jacuzzi …and our trea**ents were 1st class and staff were very friendly and helpful . The evening 3 course meal was very disappointing and rather odd …the long potato croquet filled with something hard to describe was very disappointing but the lamb was very nice …the lemon olive oil sponge was like a brick and so cold (straight from the fridge) my friends frangipan was also extremely hard and freezing cold …all in all very disappointing. the breakfast next morning was fine …full English with cereal choices juices and toast …we walked round the grounds before leaving and was quite surprised to see several piles of rubbish and remains of building materials piled up …just made the place seem run down.

Where do we even start. We got married at Ox Pasture Hall on Saturday (20th April) and it was perfect from start to finish. We could set up throughout the week, the staff were attentive and caring and nothing was too much of an ask. Claire has been brilliant in organising our day and Kia did anything on the day to make sure it was running smoothly and that us and our guests were happy. The general manager lynsey was great at helping me get to the venue unseen before the ceremony. The bar and restaurant staff ( Harry, Harry, Morgan,Masie, Finley and Shelley) worked so hard and everyone wished us well and asked if we were ok or needed anything. The rooms and food were amazing. We stayed an extra night and the food at the onsite restaurant was some of the best food we've ever had. The spa was also clean and relaxing and again ran by happy, helpful staff, who couldn't do enough for you. The weekend was everything we could have asked for and more, and the staff were a massive part of this. And the grounds are simply beautiful.
