A very welcoming pub whose staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and well equipped. I was provided with everything I needed and the staff were quick to make sure I was ok. I thoroughly recommend this well priced , well located establishment

Our first visit to Newmarket to go to the races. The White Hart is well priced and close to the race course. We were told on arrival that it would be noisy as the rooms face the front and are above where the DJ is on a Saturday night. It's fine, as long as you know. It was hot in the room but it was an exceptionally hot day and a fan was provided. Room was good and clean. The best asset of TWH was the staff. From the moment we arrived they were friendly and helpful, especially Dannika, the manager. Breakfast was really good and plentiful, including a continental table with croissants and cereal. The chef was lovely and accommodating. A fantastic first experience of Newmarket, will definitely be back. For value for money, friendly service and close to the track you cannot beat TWH.

The rooms are lovely, especially the bathroom we really loved this! Food was great and service was fast. It was a lovely place to stay and right in the middle of the town so therefore anything you could need is right next door. We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend

Oh dear, it was grim I'm afraid. Room 15 is so uninviting. Dim lights, small bed and truly awful bathroom. The open window when we arrived was thick with cobwebs. Could not face using the shower. Dirty plates left outside the room next door were still there the next morning. Possibly the worse hotel room I have ever stayed in.

Staff were very welcoming. Location middle of Newmarket. Obviously being an old building. I was awoken by the person above me walking around due to the creaky floorboards. The ironing board was the size of a skateboard. Room was dated. And the worst was that the hot water wasn’t working in the bath. So, couldn’t have a shower or bath in the morning. If I had checked the night before I would have told reception.

A shame as I thought the hotel was a little dated and in need of a freshen up. We were also unlucky that there was a wedding and a nightclub very close which meant that it was very noisy until 12.30 and then it quietened down. Linen was clean and staff were good. A lick of paint and a bit of thought and the place could be much better. All in all a missed opportunity.

We have stayed here several times and really enjoyed this visit. We arrived in the morning and were allowed to check in a bit early which was very handy The building/rooms do look a bit tired now and in need of a bit of refurbishment but what makes this place for me is the staff. All seem happy and welcoming which makes you feel like your custom is valued Special mention for Ryan (current assistant manager) who was very good at his job and also his interaction with staff and guests

Never been before but it's a regular venue for friends to meet for a meal. Inside is pleasant but no architectural gem! However, the two staff I met were friendly and helpful - not always the case in pubs/restaurants. You have to pay for the parking at the rear of the building, but this is refunded with a meal. I had fish and chips. Excellent, hot, big and well-cooked fish and chips.

Marstons need to take a good look at this extremely tired hotel. The paintwork is old and it definitely needs complete redecoration. The reception area was awful. Our room, No. 15. was very small with mould all over the window frames. The bathroom was grotty. The whole room needs gutting. It's agreat shame that a hotel in High Street centre of this town has been totally neglected. We definitely wouldn't eat there as if the food was anything like the reception area, hallways and rooms, that was enough to put anyone off, One question that I would like an answer is do hotels allocate the worst rooms to people who use their Tesco Clubcard to pay for them.It certainly seemed like it with this hotel from what we could see of other rooms. WE WILL DEFINITELY NEVER STAY IN THIS OR ANY OTHER MARSTONS HOTEL EVER AGAIN. The next night we stayed in a Travelodge in Ely, which made the White Hart look even worse in comparism to it.
