Lido House, Autograph Collection

Another great stay at Lido House! We spent a full week there last week for Spring Break and our family and friends had the best time. The hotel is in the perfect location with easy access to Lido Village for dining and shopping. The breakfast each morning in the hotel restaurant was lovely and will be craving those breakfast potatoes until our return. Rick welcomed us each morning and was always a delight. Huge shoutout to a few individuals that made our stay even better: Gie at the desk, appreciate you!!, Jacob (keep doing you man!), Joshua (huge asset to the hotel as always, remembered we had a dog and offered another bandana to take home), Joe at the desk (true genuine character and impressive follow up), Alexandra at the pool (remembered order, name AND room number from the previous day and taking care of the entire pool with ease), Tiffany at Mayors Table (I don't think you had any idea the impact you made offering an orange juice to my one year old while we were waiting for our food to go that morning. Small gesture that went a long way especially when waiting for anything with kids). I am ALWAYS impressed with the front drive team handling everything from first impression to the very last. No matter what is happening, they always notice when someone is approaching the door and are there just in time to open it for the guest. They greet each person with a warm smile and greeting. Thank you Kevin, Dylan, Bradley, Charlie. The added convenience of complimentary bike rentals allowed us to explore the surrounding area with ease. The Lido House team exemplifies a level of care and hospitality that cannot be taught, but rather is ingrained in their very being, positioning them perfectly within the hospitality industry. While I could continue to sing praises of our time at Lido House, I’ll leave some stories untold, eager for the next guests to uncover and share their own experiences. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at LIDO HOUSE for crafting such an unforgettable week.

Loved going to the Crew each morning

Overall, this was a great hotel with a great staff. The hotel has character and a unique style. It is balanced between a cape cod resort and a classic socal hotel. The food was excellent and the service was extremely responsive. The rooms were lovely with excellent bedding, the TVs had a Netflix option, and the housekeeping staff was very responsive. Throughout the stay, the grounds were well kept and the location was optimal for Newport Beach. I’d love to stay here again!

Lido House is a nice property but very overpriced in my opinion. $55 daily parking plus $35 “destination fee” conveniently hidden on reservations until you check out! Skip the Mayor Table and find better local restaurants unless you don’t mind paying $20 for a glass of wine or $26 for a burger!

I have an allergy to synthetic fragrance that isn’t severe. I can handle mild fragrances and in all my decades of travel, I have never had to check out of a hotel due to synthetic fragrance. If the fragrances are strong or in high doses (such as the perfume section of a department store), I will get headaches and my throat will feel swollen. We booked a night at Lido House in Nov 2023 for a weekend staycation. As soon as we opened the door to our room, the fragrance smacked us in the face even my husband and kids who don’t care about fragrance said “it stinks in here” and “the smell is too strong.” I called guest services to ask what my options were, but they said that the fragrance, which they called their “signature scent,” was sprayed by housekeeping in every single room in the hotel. He said that their standard practice is to spray the scent on the drapes, carpet and foyer. He told me my best option was to open the balcony door and blast the AC. I did so, seeing as I had no other options. But upon opening the balcony door, I saw that the laundry dryer vents were located directly under the balcony. So the exhaust from the dryers was coming into the room. I tried to tough it out but soon I developed the headache and felt my throat swelling due to the “signature scent.” My kids said “Mom, home is better than this place.” I could not agree more. So we checked out of Lido House and went home. It was a relief to breathe fresh air outside the hotel. Gave two stars review only because the lady at the front desk was nice as we were checking out. She talked to the manager and gave us half the points back. Not a full refund though.
