weekday getaway,, came 1time fell in love and now i come monthly,,,

Where to start this utter failure. I booked a 10 room block for my wedding guest. First their reservation system went down and we could not access the group room reservation. They provided and was told to manually contact my guest and make a spread sheet of the reservations and who is to pay. Next a guest is told they can’t add a night to the reservation without having to switch rooms. Day of arrival first we are lied to and told the room is out of order then we find out that our suite we reserved was doubled booked and we would have to take a downgrade. Then after check out instead of compensating us we are overcharged by nearly $1000. This is supposed to be the best 4 star resort but I have had better service and smoother process with motel 6.

Seafood brunch was not fresh and made us ill. Biggest rip off in Orange County and we got sick too! Came for Father’s Day because of the advertised lobster claws they had none on display and when I asked they said they had nothing in the back. We came for the lobster and were very disappointed and I wanted to speak to a manager. One of the waitstaff said don’t worry I will get you some. About 15 minutes later he brought us lobster that had been frozen and it was freezing and rubbery. He also brought freezing melted butter how is that possible?? It was fake butter and disgusting 🤮 too late we tried the lobster and everyone that ate it got violently ill. Thank goodness we didn’t try the sweating sushi or we would probably be in the hospital! Only fresh items were the steak and lamb chops but the au jus was fake gravy. Not what anyone wants for $115 + 20% tip included in the bill. The service was terrible they never offered mimosas or included beverages and only filled our water up when we hailed them to the table. We are still sick and my husband is in bed with food poisoning, we will not return. This place needs to be reported for unsafe food service.

I have been to Balboa Bay Resort for apps and drinks. Always enjoyed the experience, so decided to stay one night before a conference. It exceeded my expectations and will certainly be back. Highly recommend.

Staff is very friendly. Front desk valet and room service. Looking forward to our week here. Room is very clean. E ery one has been so nice. So nice with the valet service. Room service is one of our favorite ones on vacation. My favorite hotel. We will back again this summer. Thank you Mark.

Great location, amazing and entertaining views of boat watching and top notch service. Very impressed with everything about this stay, the rooms were nice (bay view) and most importantly impeccably clean (even the balcony was spotless) but what really stood out was that the service was the best I’ve ever received even at similarly priced resorts between the front desk, valet, bellmen, cleaning and coffee shop employees. If you’re ever in the area, a true 10/10 place to stay, would return.
