Had a great time at the Hotel Viking. Staff very friendly. Food was very good. Room very clean. Only downside was the maid service is every other day. For what you pay, you expect every day service.

I called in advance to make sure I could bring my mom’s birthday cake into the bar area … when I called they said they would have everything I needed plates forks a knife… when the time came they said they couldn’t provide any of these things … it was my moms 70th birthday… very disappointing

The hotel is perfect for a weekend away or a business meeting. The food, staff and hotel were amazing and it is located close to Downtown.

What a lovely experience at the Hotel Viking. From the minute you pull up you know you made a good decision. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and lots of charm. Totally walkable with a beautiful rooftop bar.

Have been going to Newport annually for several years and have stayed at a variety of places from VRBO to Marriott to the Brenton and the Viking has been the most disappointing. The valet and bar tender were great, but the room was horrible and front desk was less than helpful. The photos speak for themselves. If staying in Newport, find somewhere else.

Meeting space and overnight accommodations for an all day meeting. Space was amazing, catering was awesome. Staff was amazing to work with. Jocelyn Evans and Chuck Spaulding are the BEST!

Part of a group of 25 stayed two nights . Very good location . Arrived quite late first night able to secure tomato soup from the bar very good tasty and hot. Room excellent overlooking centre courtyard noted lights on 24 hours so glad we had black out curtains . Breakfast very acceptable good choice of food. We went to a local restaurant second night. All staff we came in contact friendly and helpful . .

We were very disappointed with the hotel. Given the photos provided on the website and our familiarity with visiting the hotel for drinks and the rooftop bar, we had expectations of a spectacular room, view, and experience. It is sad to say that those expectations were not even closely met. Everything from the price to serving the room was unexpected for this caliber of hotel. We had a large room with a bathroom with nowhere to put our toiletries, and it lacked hooks for clothing or towels. The worst was the cold shower that wasn't fixed. Given the holiday weekend, we were out of options to stay elsewhere, and our room wouldn't have been refunded. It was expensive and dated (peeling veneer on the furniture, dirty carpets, the room wasn't cleaned daily, only bed made, and the AC unit was very loud). We turned off the AC and opted to open the window only to welcome the sound of other AC units.
