Can’t rave about this place enough. First of all, JANE. She made us feel so welcome and special even though this is only a mid-rate hotel. She truly made it feel like home and was there to solve any problem. She learned all of our names and plans, and made sure to ask about them. Secondly, my husband suffers from allergies. At the last hotel where he stayed, the heating system was blowing dust all over the place. This room has baseboard heating, hardwood floors with rugs, and the extra blankets are sealed up in a bag so they aren’t just getting all dusty in the closet. This is a great location. It is in walking distance of many attractions. The price is great. Spend the few extra dollars and get a waterside room. P.S. Warm, homemade cookies every afternoon.

I asked Jennifer in the breakfast room about the ice machine because I am a light sleeper. Within minutes I received a call from Meg at the front desk asking if I wanted to switch rooms. I was moved to a corner suite with a stunning view of the sound. The hospitality from Jennifer, Meg, June and all employees at the Harborside Inn was phenomenal! The location is the best in Newport right next to Thames Street which is where most of the restaurants and stores are located. Easy walking to most places. Parking is free which is an added bonus. The complimentary continental breakfast was excellent. They also make available tea and freshly baked cookies throughout the day. I would not stay anywhere else than the Harborside Inn when in Newport.

Abbiamo soggiornato due notti. Le camere sono belle e spaziose ma la pulizia non e’ il massimo. Il bagno aveva capelli per terra e sulle piastrelle della doccia. Il soffione della nostra doccia era vecchissimo e otturato dal calcare. Le camere non vengono rifatte (ma questo immagino sia specificato da qualche parte e devo essermelo persa io). Il peggio e’ la colazione assolutamente insufficiente: alimenti di basso livello e poca scelta. Basterebbe davvero poco. Peccato! Il posto ha davvero delle potenzialita’. Qualche sorriso in piu’ e maggiore gentilezza non guasterebbero. A queste condizioni non e’ economico.

Great property overlooking the water. Very close to all shops and dining. The property managers were excellent. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Lovely inn by the water. The service and reception is outstanding. We had a suite with mezzanine overlooking the water and having been in many hotels over the years, I would say it was a 4 stars! The are having building work on the outside at the moment and changing windows, but I predict this little gem will become a 4 star-rated hotel in no time. Yes, the bar close by can be noisy but it stopped early for us, and it was just people talking playing ping-pong rather than music. The free breakfast was decent with some delicious homemade muffins and cakes. We will return with no hesitation!

The hotel is in a very central location, so it was an easy walk to many different restaurants and sites. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a wonderful sitting area in the room that was great for wine drinking and watching TV. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay at this hotel.

Everyone we met was super helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast had a variety of items to eat. Our room was clean with the exception of a fig newton I found on the floor by the headboard. (LOL)
