Good hotel. Personally I think it’s a little too expensive for what they offer. It’s an old hotel and you can definitely feel that. However, some people like that stuff. Staff were friendly and welcoming which after a long journey is the most important. The room was clean and mostly well equipped to support your stay. Shame we got the road view instead of the beach view.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location is super good. It’s definitely the best place to stay if you want to see sunset at Pentire headland.

Lovley place to stay. Staff there were brilliant always happy to help you and give you infomation. Staff will always say good morning and smiling. Room had evrything we needed, pillows and bed was very comfy. Bathroom was lovley ! Loved the rainfall shower ! Very clean room. The only thing we found at a dislike was the flooring in the corridors and dining room at breakfast. Evrytime someone walked passed our table my chair would shake and table shook. It just became really ennoying when your trying to eat. But I would definitely stay here again!

Despite paying a hefty single supplement to our tour company we were both given single rooms smaller than our 'box room' at home...the weather was chilly and windy but the heating wasn't on in our rooms, the shower room was so cold it was uncomfortable to shower and the rooms weren't serviced or checked before we arrived. My friends room had light bulbs not working and a tv that didn't work. The restaurant staff were quite rude and unhelpful at times. If you are older and not as mobile as you once were be mindful of the hotel location as you will need to get the bus into Newquay itself. Needless to say I doubt I would stay there again.

Found evidence of bedbugs in the room, there were markings on the bedding from bed bugs the management tried to reassure us not to worry as it was ‘just mould’. They looked at our mattress and told us they could ‘guarantee’ there were no bedbugs in the room. However knowing the signs I am 99% confident that there were which is why we made the decision to leave the hotel at 7pm, a decision not taken lightly with an 8 month old in tow. We were told we would not be refunded but offered £40 as a gesture of goodwill. Aside from the above, the room was not suitable for a family, it was very small and with a cot, pram and suitcase in there we struggled to open the door and had to climb over things to get to the bed. The cot was poor quality with no proper mattress and the room was shabby and dated with splatters, stains and scuffs on the walls.

Took a friend and it is always difficult to take someone not knowing how they will react to your previous experiences, but she was not disappointed and said she wanted to return. She especially enjoyed the food! We had two very comfortable single rooms

We were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary this year, and had originally booked another Hotel in Newquay, but following an accident had to change things at last minute. How fortuitous !! Booked this direct, and what a find! From Imogen who took our original booking, to Sue on reception who advised the best places to visit and eat - (not forgetting getting us a room with a bath !!) to Olivia who seemed to be everywhere.... We had a fabulous break. Thank you ALL so much. We will definitely be back. One small thing - with the weather as it was, a small fridge in the room would have been lovely to keep a few cold drinks in . But overall, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay at the Pentire.

Overnight stay due to attending a festival nearby. They accommodated or twin room request and reassured r us that with 24 Hr reception we could check un at any time after we had finished at the festival. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom had a large shower. Decorated in a modern and smart way the rooms are compact which is normal for the period of the building. The very reasonable price included breakfast which was hot fresh and plentiful. The pool and games area was very clean and well taken care of. Staff were very freindly and encouraged us to use the lounge and pool after checkout as we didn't need to be at the festival until the afternoon. I would definitely visit again as we do come to Newquay frequently.
