Canal Court

Another great stay at the canal court .room was clean and had everything you would need shower was the most powerful ever and great Breakfast was always class and we ate 3 nights in a row downstairs food was always spot on and the Guinness was 10/10 I used the leisure facilities every day as well great sauna steam and plunge pool,as well as a nice little gym all in all a very good stay for the second year in a row hopefully see you again soon

I attended hotel on 3rd March 2026 with my partner after she received Cancer treatment at Daisy Hill, Hospital. As you can imagine it was a highly distressing appointment and I decided to take her into the hotel for a glass of wine to feel more relaxed. As a result of my partners diagnosis she requires her dog which is a highly trained and legally registered Great Dane who alerts her upto several hours of a potential incident requiring her to be taken home or have urgent access to a bathroom. We were sitting in the lobby and the dog was asleep beside my partner who was holding her paw. Many of your staff were aware of the dog and were amazing however two male members suddenly approached us and startled the dog. My partner asked them to give the dog space and approach gently. Sadly this seemed to be a breakdown in communication whereby they mistook this as the dog was aggressive and protective. My partner unfortunately couldn't explain that the dog is constantly working and if approached by two people she can be confused as she follows a protocol whereby she will sniff and check out anyone in close proximity. She is trained for diabetes and cancer however we were unable to communicate this and were asked to leave. We have visited your hotel many times with the dog and never once had she shown aggression or been disruptive to staff or customers owing to her training. We left the hotel given the fact we were told to call it a day with the dog however it really has added to the distress of receiving bad news at the hospital. Given the attitude of these members of staff it really had been a bitter pill to swallow despite being shown her registration on the assistance dog UK register. I did e mail the hotel regarding the issue and received an e mail from reception acknowledging the email and promising a response from management. This obviously feel on deaf ears and so I'll advise fellow travellers on this platform.

Stayed here for one (Saturday) night in July 2026 as part of a “Rory travel package” deal. Location: Right in the heart of Newry directly across from bus station. Hotel has a good size free car park and we had no problem getting a space on a Saturday afternoon. You can easily walk to nearby shops pubs etc. Check in / out: Quick and easy. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Room: We stayed in #325 which was a large very comfortable room perfect for our needs. Bed was massive and very comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and shower worked well. Room had air com which was much needed as very warm day / night. Food / Drink: We had drinks and light lunch in main hotel bar. We also enjoyed the live music there that night. Dinner (included in our package) was in the Old Mill Restaurant on the first floor. The food here was excellent and menu had a great choice of options. Breakfast was also here and again very good. The continental is buffet and hot food is ordered. Leisure centre: Unfortunately hasn’t time to try it out so can’t comment. Overall Great stay and would happily return.

We stayed here on the 12th July.we were there for bed breakfast and 3 course meal.we have stayed here before.we got upgraded to the superior suite I have to say absolutely stunning.massive beautiful living room and a super kingsize bedroom and a great big bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and walk in shower and double sinks..just as good as the one we had in vegas.all tge spa stuff is great.we love the outside hot tub and was even better with the weather..food is beautiful and the service is brilliant. I have say the manager Gemma adams is so great at her job.niothing is ever a problem to her.she goes above and above to please .amazing .the canal court wouldn't be the same without her.we also have to give a shout out to Patrick and Dean for their quick response with the first aid.we will 100% be back .

Such a good experience. The customer service is extraordinary. Big shout to Becca in reception who was very attentive. If this hotel was in London or Dublin it would cost several hundreds to stay. Absolutely top-notch I had dinner at the restaurant too, delicious food and attention. Finally the à la carte breakfast was stunning
