We recently had our wedding at the Carrickdale Hotel & Spa, and we honestly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we started planning right through to the wedding day itself, the entire team went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel completely at ease throughout the whole process. A special thank you must go to Michelle, who helped plan our wedding from the very beginning. Michelle was incredible throughout the entire journey—always helpful, organised, reassuring, and attentive to every detail. Her support, guidance, and hard work played a huge part in making our day so special, and we are truly grateful for everything she did for us. On the day, everything ran so smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment with our family and friends. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt so well looked after from start to finish. The venue itself was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and so many of our guests commented on how wonderful the service was. We are incredibly grateful to everyone at the Carrickdale Hotel & Spa for helping create such a memorable and special day. We would highly recommend the Carrickdale to any couple considering it as their wedding venue. Thank you to Michelle and the entire team for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. Love Aideen & Jordan

Stayed here on business for two nights after working with the staff to organise an event for around 50+ people, and had a very good experience. The staff were fantastic throughout, from helping with the planning and arrangements to ensuring the event ran smoothly. They were friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. The food in the bar was great, and I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to a larger room with great views of the green hills in the distance. Overall, although the location is bit away from nearby towns, this is a great hotel with plenty of parking, reasonable prices and very good service. I would happily stay here again.

We visited the secret garden on a very sunny day. The garden is situated opposite the Main Carrickdale hotel. We try and visit often when the gardens are at their best. The entrance to the garden is neatly tucked to the side of the carpark, down a flight of steps. It is absolutly beautiful, gardens are manicured, flowers in bloom, beautiful garden furniture, gazebos, hidden seating areas, an absolute sight to behold. The day we visited it was beautifully sunny, and we sampled the lovely food and drink from the gorgous cafe,on site. The seating patio area is lovely too. There is a childrens playground on site also. This would be a lovely area for wedding photos, a real gem. Well done Carraigdale on this Secret Garden. Its truly fab.Love it.

So disappointed in my stay here in carrickdale. Came for a relaxing evening with my husband. Went to the pool areas for a swim and to use sauna and steam room which were not hot at all, would have sweated more outside. Had a shower after using pool could not believe how disgusting shower cubicals were clumps of hair all over the place mould and dampness in places also. If I had not been wearing shoes I would have stood on the back of an earing which was on the floor. Got the turkey and ham for dinner which was lovely but veg rock hard and spuds were mashed with lumps of hard potatoes as a little surprise. Desert got trifel was like slop on the bowl. Had to send it back as it was unedibile. Never tasted rubbery jelly in my life untill then! Got a mohito also which basically tasted like lemon juice and dirty water did not drink it. Place was extremely busy. Rooms were nice bed was comfortable and room was clean. Staff are nice and helpful and always smiling. Breakfast is buffet style I got the overnight oats but couldn't eat them as there was too much water in it..no taste to it what so ever so opted for thr pancakes. And guess what.....there was salt on it id say someone used a salt shaker thinking it was powdered sugar then realized then plastered powder sugar on it to cover it. Went for a walk in the gardens which are absolutely beautiful 10 out of 10 to the Gardiners/landscapers. Total disaster of a time. Have been here a few times over the years and never any issue what so ever. But I can guarantee you I won't be back.

Wow!! What an amazing hotel! We had our wedding here on 16th May and we couldn’t fault one thing! From the staff, to the hotel itself to the food and rooms .. it was AMAZING!! We can’t thank Amy McEneaney enough for her help on the lead up to our wedding and on the day! She is absolutely fabulous at what she does. Thank you to all the staff for making our day so special. They are so attentive and helpful. The rooms were spotless and so comfortable! The atmosphere in the hotel was brilliant and value for money was amazing. We can’t wait to return again.

Just home from a night here. We Checked in at 4, I am aware the place was extremely busy due to communions etc, but my husband and I booked a night away to enjoy some time and to switch off and relax. When we checked in, we went to go into the bar and were turned away due to it being completely full. We had no alternative but to go back to the room. We had dinner booked at 6, we ate in the restaurant and again after we finished, there was no seats available and we ended going back to the room again. I feel disappointed that we spend the entire day in the room, it was not our intention for a night away. Had I have known in advance the hotel was catering for several communions and there would be no seating I would have changed the dates. After paying 280€ I should have stayed at home. Here was cigarette remains in candle holders in the lobby, and vomit in the toilets. The over all cleanliness was very poor for a hotel standard. Gardens are beautiful but again they were too busy and there was no access to any seating etc. very disappointed

Stayed for one night (Saturday night), had emailed about booking a table in the bar for dinner and they replied back and said, its a walk in service. When we arrived the place was extremely busy with 'drinkers' not your typical spa hotel arrival experience. No space to eat in bar or lobby at all, packed with people drinking. I asked if this is unusual and the staff said no, this is how it always is. Had to book a really late slot in the restaurant for dinner. Food in the restaurant was nice. Breakfast in restaurant was good too, decent selection. Place was over run with unsupervised kids running freely until late at night all around the premises. Ive never come across this before. Glasses, wrappers etc just left all over the place. The next morning the pool was completely swamped with unsupervised children (at least 20 from young to teenagers) with no parental supervison. They were causing havoc and making for a very uncomfortable swim for others. Supervisor did, once she noticed, remove them from the pool (some disrespected her and tried to sneak back in). She was very professional at all times and handled the situation very well. The hotel is more for families looking to go on a drinking night away and that are happy to leave the kids off to their own thing. Not really a place for a night away to relax and unwind and enjoy, like a typical spa hotel. Just not a hotel that works for me.
