Although we only went for Sunday lunch, the food (roast dinner of course!) was excellent and the 'old school' style of the dining room and the service made a very pleasant change from the more modern brash approach of other places. The staff were pleasant enough although perhaps a little perfunctory. We would certainly return and recommend.

A place to relax in wonderful surroundings. Food, staff and facilities were all excellent.Plenty of places to visit if you feel that you have to leave the comfort of the hotel.

The hotel and our room exceeded our expectations, both were very clean, kept to a high standard and gave us an amazing stay. The staff were attentive and helpful and breakfast was cooked well and there was a good continental selection too. We will be back.

We stopped for 1 night on our way to Inverness to break up the journey. Staff were lovely, food in the restaurant was superb and the hotel is in a lovely, secluded location. We didn’t get to explore the grounds as much as we would have liked given we were making an onward journey, nor did we use the spa during the stay. Cost for dinner, bed and breakfast with extras over the £45 per head allowance for dinner plus drinks was circa £300 for the night for two. If we were ever in the area again, we’d stop over but not sure it would be worth going out of our way to find another reason to stay. My only disappointment was that the spa bath in the room was not working - they’d all been switched off for health & safety reasons. Would have been a 5 star experience otherwise.

Very pleasant hotel and large room. Bar staff not particularly welcoming. Service at dinner on the 2nd night was very slow and standard things off the menu. Food quality was 10 out of 10. Spa was really good and well maintained, massage was very good - cost a bit toppy! Lovely grounds and very near the stunning coast.

Had a spa break and 2 course lunch which was lovely. We stayed in the gardeners cottage which was beautiful in a quiet location away from the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful with attentive staff. We had a lovely stay would recommend.
