Barholm Accommodation

Fabulous place to stay, everything kept lovely and clean in the shared facilities and rooms bright airy and clean. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful and nothing too much trouble. Kids were welcomed and made to feel comfortable as were our dogs. Great location to explore the local area from.

Third time for me. Keep coming back because of the location, the friendly staff, the comfy rooms. They have done some upgrades this year with a bigger kitchen and better eating area. Love the Gem Rock Museum nearby.

Lovely accommodation. Really clean. Very reasonably priced. Last minute booking after a cold night camping. Comfortable beds. Nice warm shower. Shared kitchen and dining area where we saw other residents who were all really friendly, lovely atmosphere and very child friendly. Slept really well. Owner was really helpful, suggested a pub near by with a play area which was also really nice.

Another absolutely fantastic stay, very clean and comfortable. Panny and team are very welcoming. The rooms are spotless and well kept. Kitchen is well equipped with plenty for everyone. We will be back again I’m sure as it’s an excellent base exploring Dumfries and Galloway.

On arrival I went up the drive to the side and parked at the rear. I went inside and was checked in by Pandy. He showed me the communal areas including the kitchen. You can buy supplies at the village shop which is very close and open until 8 pm. There are no tea/coffee facilities in your room. He showed me a family room and explained they weren't a bunkhouse. My room was on the Top Floor overlooking the car park and beyond. It wasn't particularly large but fine for a couple of nights. Compact bathroom with shower. Single bed. No wardrobe but a couple of hangars. Chair and TV. WiFi good. It's a good location but out of season there was nowhere to eat in the village. It's possible to catch a bus to Newton Stewart for a meal and a pint ad return early evening. All in all good value for money - and it helps the community. Good location for visiting other places in the area.

Very easy to find plenty of parking round the back a well organised place clean and tidy room was good with small shower everything you need small tv and wifi not much in the town small shop and a lovely pub for food make sure you book (lairds inn) on the camp site. Owner nice approachable fella does what it does Only grip is memory foam mattress is very hot to sleep on but that’s just me Thanks

Another relaxed stay at Barholm with our dogs. Our room was spotless, spacious and comfortable with kettle, toaster and microwave. The nearby shop in Creetown is friendly too and has everything you might need. Creetown is a good base from which to explore Galloway and there are good walks for dogs from the door of the accommodation.

Place is immaculate. Manager very helpful and pleasant. Great budget room with en-suite. Plenty of parking at back next to entrance. Was very quiet apart from a large family that arrived and seemed to be up and down stairs for about an hour. Having said that total peace and quiet throughout the night. Had a great nights sleep. Would definitely stay again!
