Considering the prices of accommodations near Sydney's city center, this place in Newtown, just a few subway stops away, offered great value for money. From its impressive exterior to the lobby and the rooms, everything was clean and the housekeeping was decent. The room felt a bit small, but it wasn't a big inconvenience since my trip was more about outdoor activities than a staycation. Plus, having dishes and cutlery available to prepare light meals was a bonus. Staying in Newtown also gave me the opportunity to visit the local vintage shops and cafes, making for a very satisfying stay.

Room looks clean and tidy, has enough room and isn’t cold. The location is pretty nice, close to train station and all the fun clubs/bars, besides the owner offers check out flexibility. Nice experience here

We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights in the King Studio. The receptionist was friendly and usually available, and housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy every day 👍🏼 The room itself was quite small, including the bathroom. Once we opened our luggage, there was hardly any space left to walk, but it was equipped with all the basic necessities. Soundproofing could be improved, as we could still hear people laughing and playing in the corridor late at night On the bright side, the location is excellent. It’s a lively area with plenty of great restaurants, and both bus and train stations are close by, making it very convenient to reach the CBD

The room was comfortable and nicely presented, with good amenities and a cozy atmosphere. However, if you are staying on Level 1, be aware that there can be some noise from passing cars, especially during busy traffic times. Light sleepers may want to request a higher floor.

Great location and nice rooms - although they would benefit from more lights in the centre of the room as it was a bit dark. Service wasn’t great, we arrived at 10.30pm and nobody was at the front desk in reception. There was a sign saying that someone would be right back. We waited half an hour and nobody showed, so we called the number on the sign. The number didn’t work so we had to find a different one online. We managed to contact someone, but the man was rude and had clearly been asleep.

Great spot close to everything we wanted. Main road quite noisy. The inside garden & art was much appreciated.

The hotel has a great location, only 400 meters from Newtown train station, making it very convenient. However, the hotel facilities and decor are less than ideal. The atrium has an industrial feel, the rooms are small and old, and the bathroom only has one large, fixed showerhead, requiring you to wash your hair before showering unless you wear a shower cap. The air conditioner filter is covered in a thick layer of dust, and no one cleans it; if your nose is really bothered, you might as well clean it yourself. The hotel is very noisy due to its street location, and the windows are not double-glazed. There are airplane routes directly overhead, and the rumbling noise is very disruptive. However, the hotel owner, Bran, is incredibly nice. When I accidentally broke a teacup while washing it during my stay and offered to compensate him at checkout, he refused to accept payment. The hotel lobby is small and basic, but it has a small refrigerator stocked with drinks and coffee/tea for guests to use free of charge, which is very thoughtful. There are washer-dryers in the parking garage downstairs; washing and drying cost $9 each.

Although I left a day earlier than my original reservation due to my flight schedule, I was more satisfied than I expected. Although there was a language barrier, the staff were kind and I was able to leave in a good mood. If I have the chance, I would like to come again.

The room is irregular in shape, with edges and corners. The 28-inch suitcase cannot be fully unfolded, otherwise it needs to be stepped over. The toilet is as big as the room. The front desk is enthusiastic to introduce and guide, and help keep the luggage
