Zostel Srinagar Reservation Number: ZSR14728-1 1. When committing services on website Zostel should ensure the delivery as well. Simply putting a hand written note saying these services won’t be provided is not acceptable under the tag of house rules. 2. ⁠Hospitality is an integral part of travel industry. No special rules apply to Zostel. Few things are basic. The kitchen staff on our day of visit was extremely rude and the entire staff was sharing different set of information. When checked they initially mentioned that everything is available on the menu but the kitchen staff said otherwise and had no clue. 3. ⁠Timings are crucial. But the same should apply to the staff. We were told that the kitchen closes at 9:30 but when we went for ordering at 9:15 no one was there. They came back at 9:30 and said the kitchen is closed now. 4. ⁠No electricity was there for almost 2 hours. None of the staff members could figure things out leaving us in cold. Worst part,there was no staff member available to answer queries. 5. ⁠In extreme cold weather this expectation of removing shoes at doorstep is absurd. again the same tag of House Rules. Especially when you don’t have enough slippers. 6. ⁠In extreme cold what are the things should work? Electric kettle, geyser, Hot AC. What was working? None of the above. How did we come to know? A small handwritten note on counter top. Was this mentioned while booking or on website? NOT AT ALL!!! Again probably this is what house rules means, just to justify any stupidity from Zostel.

I had initially planned to stay here for 2 days, but thanks for their hospitality and incredible location, I ended up staying for another 2 days. A huge shoutout to Sameer and his crew. PS, their location is an added incentive if you’re looking to enjoy the natural vibe of Srinagar.

We stayed here in a private room for 4 nights and this was probably the best decision in the entire trip. The rooms were super comfortable and clean and the staffs were super helpful. We needed a printout of a document for our trek and the zostel printer was not working. Shabbir bhai sent someone to get it printed from a nearby shop and refused to take the charges from us. The amazing hospitality we received from this zostel was truly the highlight of our trip. Being an unmarried couple it was a tricky for us to find a couple-friendly accommodation in Srinagar during our travel days, but we were glad that zostel came to our rescue. The best part was we easily found travel buddies and shared cabs to Gulmarg and ********. This not only helped us to meet likeminded people but also helped us to share the cab costs for the day-trips. I always had the belief that Kashmir was more of a honeymoon or family destination but it is not. Lots of bachelor crowds do visit Kashmir and Zostel is the ideal place to meet them. Stories were shared and new places were added to the bucketlist during our interaction with other travellers. If you are travelling solo, or in a group, or are just a couple like us, I highly recommend you to try out Zostel.

Best place to stay in Srinagar ...loved our stay here... food is good and reasonable too...the hotel staff is very helpful...it is close to dal lake like 5 mins walk...the view from the terrace is outstanding. .

This is the first time I booked a zostel. Only thing I did not like was the smell in washroom. There was penetrated weired smell in washroom everytime. Also window did not close fully. There is always a gap. And please change the curtains in washroom. They are so transparent. I went in May so I was not so bothered with electricity cuts but it happens frequently. And yes, there is no view from window. Good thing - heater. few things new to me(first time zosteler) : Keeping the slippers outside. No one to provide food or water in room. You have to take by yourself. Cleaning is not done daily and only if asked. Driver's car is not allowed to be parked inside.

It's very good for solo traveller.warm hospitality from the host imtiyaz,Irfan bhai,Sameer bhai.they guide the traveller to new destination which are offbeat place.Happy to see such people around which feels like home away home. Zostel Srinagar

I was a bit sceptical to stay at Zostel, and how wrong I was. Not only was it at. Great location, extremely safe, the most delicious food, lots of games, the staff and ***agers were so forthcoming and warm. It’s also a great place to meet fellow travellers and have a non commercial insight into the place. We stayed here for 2 nights and I would definitely recommend friends and families visiting Srinagar to stay at Zostel, it’s value for money and absolutely wonderful. So glad I went for it.
