We came her in Feb 2022 for a weekend getaway from the city. Glad we did.All of the room will have a city view but if you book one of the corner rooms, you will not only get a nice tatami area for viewing but will have a city and mountain view, but be sure to get the top 2 floors for the best view. Also, if you book rooms ending in 01, 02, or 03, these will be closest to the elevators (the rooms were pretty well insulated against noise). The property also has a public onsen bath. To access it take a short automatic tram ride to a separate lounge area stocked with ice cream and drinks, then a short walk to the bath house. Along the way you will see a few cabanas that you can use to have a nice picnic when the weather permits. Meals are served in a semi-private space, meaning you will have a room but noice from the other guest do bleed through since the walls do not go all the way up to the ceiling. Food was great. For breakfast, the hotel knew that I hated to look for small pin bones in the fish so intead the substituted it for stewed pork. The staff also performed one of the local legends after dinner, don't miss it. Overall, its a great hotel with excellent service.

We arrived at the hotel at night and had already had dinner time. We have contacted the hotel before departure and hope they can arrange it. When the results arrived, the hotel staff specially arranged our dinner, which tasted good and served first-class! We booked a Canadian cabin and it feels warm and comfortable. The hot springs are also very comfortable. I will definitely come back next time!

We decided to add on one night in Kagoshima prior to embarking on our second Yakushima trip. We did this specifically to try out Myoken Ishiharaso - while the ryokan is a relative unknown in foreign circles, the its prominence among Japanese folks as one of the top onsen and culinary ryokans prompted to extend our trip to try it out. We're definitely glad we did! First, the location - even though it's a mere 15 minutes drive from Kagoshima Airport, we felt like we were a world away; the ryokan is on the outskirts of Kirishima National Park, and is situated along the banks of the pretty and quaint Amori River. It's definitely a place you can easily visit from Tokyo or Osaka given its proximity to the airport, and feel like you're in an off-the-beaten-path destination. On the other hand, it's quite a ways away from Kagoshima City proper... if you want to see the sights (Sakurajima, Sengan-en, etc.) then you definitely should plan for a long day or spend two nights in the area. Note that check-in at Ishiharaso is 2PM, and you'll want to get there not much later than that, if you intend to enjoy everything that the ryokan has to offer. We stayed in a Suite in the” Ishikura” annex building called ”Kirara.” It's generously proportioned (85 square meters) and features a separate bedroom/living room/tatami room, and an open-air outdoor Onsen (natural hot springs) bath on the room's balcony. The added benefit of staying in an Ishikura room (and a handful of the top suites in the main building) is the fact that you can elect to have meals in your own room. We chose Kirara due to preferring a more comfortable (to us), Western-style accommodation - Kirara's bedroom has two double beds, and the living room is furnished with real sofas. Please note that in-room meals are served in the Tatami room. We really enjoyed the variety of Onsens that are available at Ishiharaso. The in-room open-air Onsen was awesome. It's different from many others in that it's full of Iron, and you can really smell it. Not a super pleasant aroma, but it's natural, and it's not overpowering in its aroma. What was impressive is the fact that it's not only is it of the ”kakenagashi” (24/7 constant free-flowing) variety, but the volume and force is unlike any other Onsen we've experienced. We could tell that they are close to the source, and there is an abundance of the hot springs water that Ishiharaso taps into. We also tried out several of the Onsens on the property, and they were all interesting in their own unique way. There is a pretty pathway along the river that leads guests to the main ”Daiyokujo” (segregated communal bath) that is large and indoors in a separate building that also contains a lounge/cafe. In addition, there are several outdoor Onsens scattered througout the river banks, including a footbath, a mixed-gender bath, and two private rental baths for couples/families/friends. Ishiharaso rents out bathing suits for women, which is (probably!) needed for the mixed-g

I found this place when I lived in Kirishima Onsen Village and tried to move to another place. Check-in at 4 o'clock.. I arrived early.. I got off at the nearest train station and picked up the service later, 4 check-in was a bit late. Because it is a residential area, you can't see anything near Yokan. On the contrary, it is really quiet, so it’s nice to rest. There are too many kaiseki dinners, I did not apply, I only applied for breakfast. The breakfast time was really good, I looked at the scenery outside~~The hot spring was too slippery.. The stone was too slippery. I enjoyed the hot spring very carefully. The location is not very good. . Most Japanese people come here.. Most of the staff can only speak Japanese.. When you stay in a ryokan, please show the important content printed in English Thank you very much for taking care of me.

It is located in a quiet place with a winding road from the main road through Kirishima Onsen 1km. The number of rooms is 39 It seems that it is a room, and it feels like an old-fashioned small hot spring inn. The building and rooms were old, and the elevator was a retro push button type. The hot springs are rich in water, with sulfur springs and simple springs, and you can choose them according to your mood. In addition, there is a rental bath 4, and it was possible to make a reservation by phone in advance, so I made a reservation for the most popular ”Akamatsu no Yu” about 1 months ago, but the next morning 6 and 8 Only available did. 2 Moon Morning 6 It was still night, and I went while illuminating my feet with the flashlight I lent in the dark. The open-air bath surrounded by the forest was wonderful and I was able to relax. I wanted to enter in a bright environment when the season was a little better. Meals have been devised using local ingredients. Because the room rate is reasonable, it is not high-class, but it was able to be delicious by the dish which was added by the hand. When I checked out, I felt that it was an inn where I felt the warmth of a simple person in the Showa period throughout my stay, such as giving me a boiled * as a gift.

I stayed with my elderly father. I didn't think there were many staff, but they put my luggage in the room and it was helpful. The room was large enough with a twin bed and a Japanese-style room with more than 10 tatami mats with a board. I can't deny the oldness around the water, but there was also a faucet for drinking water. Dinner is a restaurant with all-you-can-drink and has a menu of 、. The restaurant also has a high ceiling, chic and relaxing. The interior of shochu lined up on the wall was also nice, and many people took pictures. The contents of the meal were also served with a polite explanation. Especially good was that Sakurajima was seen from the large communal bath while the environment was in the mountains. I was able to realize again that I came to Kagoshima ~. The hot water was also soft and nice. If I could order one, I thought it would be okay to have citrus services in my room during the winter.

The open-air bath to be reserved and used was really the best! I wanted to use an open-air bath with no pillars or curtains closed, so I chose it in the mountains. At Maruo Station, I was able to collect luggage and have a great time walking around, so I used the transfer to check in and check out easily. The banquets are also delicious and delicious. I ate a glass of draft beer free of charge because the service and drink were selectable. The black pork shabu-shabu tasted a bit unfortunately, so I went to Kagoshima city and ate some food. I don't know if it's like inn cuisine or shabu-shabu itself in our mouth.

The balance of the facilities and services of the inn and the price is good It was an inn. I think the family trip with a small child is the best inn. If there are 5 baths, there is nothing to say. The service of the staff was also very pleasant. Thank you for taking care of me. On the other hand, I like a large bath that I put in at any time. It may also be related to the source, but I don't like the bath to walk outside. This time it was difficult to use especially in the night due to bad weather. I evaluated the negative point of not having an elevator and not a shower toilet.
