Mardi Gras Casino & Resort

The convenience of staying right at the ****** was the best part of the stay. It was great to walk right up to our room after a fun night without having to go outside. But other than that it was just ok. The staff checking us in looked tired and worn down. They were clearly used to checking in people who stay at ******s often but this was new to us. When I said it was our first time here I would have appreciated some info about breakfast and maybe an offer for a players card. Some staff were new so learning the job is understandable, but it just looked like it had been a really long day. The room was fine. It was clean and comfortable. The ****** was a lot of fun. Breakfast the next am was pretty basic, cereal oatmeal, toast, bagels, muffins and yogurt. The host arranging it all was lovely and helpful. He found earl gray tea for me when I asked. It was a fun overnight at an ok hotel. Glad we gave it a try.

My stay at this resort was very nice and I will return many times. I did not get to experience the ******, but I did tour it and thought it was terrific looking and will be back to play it next week.  I enjoyed the coffee service in the morning. The room was clean and tidy. I had no issues with the housekeeping and the front desk service was exceptional. This is my stopping point on the way to work and will become my favorite stopping point each week now for the next four weeks

What is kind of odd? They do not have a microwave at the breakfast or in the room

Room wasn’t worth the money

Very loud. Was told that the fourth floor would be less noisy but that was not the case. I drove 7 hours and stopped here for a night to recharge. Not happy.

While I certainly enjoyed my stay at Mardi Gras, there were a couple of areas that I feel could use improvement: 1. The room I stayed in, although clean, seemed dated throughout – sleeping area and bathroom. When turning on the water for a shower, the water came out of the showerhead, and not from the tub faucet. Attempts to push the shower diverter down to have the water come out of the tub faucet were not successful. Not a big deal, of course, and I did not report it to maintenance, but needs attention. 2. I was fortunate enough to need a “hand-pay” from machine winnings during my time at the ******. On a Friday evening, there was a definite shortage of staff to accommodate patrons in that situation, resulting in a long wait time for someone to come over to initiate and then complete the process. This should also be given attention. Now, to end on a positive note… we had dinner at The French Quarter and lunch the next day at Café Orleans. Service and food were excellent at both locations!!! In addition, our beverage server on the gaming floor and those who waited on us at the bar were all VERY friendly and efficient!! So, overall my rating is slightly above average for the aforementioned reasons, and while I would most likely stay/play at Mardi Gras again, I would have difficulty recommending to someone as a “topnotch” resort.
