Olifants River Lodge by Dream Resorts

Had a great stay - Lovely walks and area. Overall a good experience. Love the heated pool, could be a little warmer.

I phoned on our way to Middleburg, for a place to sleep, I talked with Promise, I heard her say it will cost R1100, we tried to find something cheaper, but to no avail, we then went to Olifantslodge, and said we will split the bill, we arrived just after 10pm booked in by the securities, in the morning Promise came and said you must come now to pay, even we were in pajamas, and also said you must book out at 10pm, even though we were so little guests at the place, off season, she then said the price is R1800, a big shock, we explained what I heard over the phone, and ask her to bring the Manager, Cynthia, later we explained to Cynthia the predicament, she then agreed to let us pay the rate I heard, we appreciate her effort to restore things peacefully, but Promise need training on customer relations, her aura is a bit aggressive, the place needs deep cleaning, spider webs, and a dirty mop in your face on the back stoep. Also plug sockets for 2 point plugs, The nature around is beautiful, but we need value for money, regular check of management to uphold cleanliness. Thank you. Jackie Matimba.

Was perfect for overnight accommodation back from Mozambique. Assisted us on short notice and the service was excellent. Buffet breakfast was very nice. Venue is very affordable. Enjoyed some time in their under cover heated pool. Very happy customer.

New year's Day and I'm off to join my son ,camping for five days, as a day visitor on the river for fishing,with all my gear in the car. Paid my fees at reception, then the manager of the resort ran out of office to stop me from entering with my vehicle. Reason I'm a day visitor,I have to walk in. I left, in total disgust, if I did go there alone I can understand, wow she must have had a bad morning.

Lovely, clean resort with lots of activities. We camped along the river banks with a group of students. Clean, well maintained grass, power and water supply, easily accessible communal bathrooms. Free Wifi available. Enjoyed the fishing, hiking and scenery. Activities include (which we've used) fishing, hiking, spacious are for any sport, cricket nets, indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, games area with pool table, table tennis and darts. Excellent place to unwind and enjoy nature. Peaceful, safe and relaxing. Convenient store has a range of items which are well priced. There is a gravel road to access the lodge which is rutted and therefore a bumpy ride. We enjoyed our stay.

It was a lovely stay for the weekend, the rooms need TLC as alot of things are broken.

The place is woderfull and good for visit what i don't like. i book for 2 night, the bed was not done on the second day

The gardens ,river and heated pool looked great ,definitely a place to take children .We only overnighted so didn’t make use of all the facilities which were available. The toilet in our rondavel was blocked ,and a bathmat would have been nice as the floors are freezing cold .

This had to be one of the worst holidays. The most comfortable thing in our apartment was our camping chairs. Beds were rock hard, I tried adding the extra blankets on the bed so that we will be able to sleep on it. We left earlier than we should have, the last straw was when my daughter wanted to sit on the couch and the arm rest gave way and she fell. The couch was extremely old, hence it broke when my 7 year old daughter tried sitting on it. Never again!!!
